Engine Malfunction
I have a 2011 bmw 335is with dual clutch transmission. I was driving the other day, and it told me "engine malfunction" on the screen. It told me the car was operating at a reduced output. I would try to accelerate, but the car wasn't giving in. It would take a while to pick up speed.
I took it to a local car repair shop, and they had it for 2 days. They give me a call, and told me they couldn't find what exactly what wrong. They told me that I need to take it to the actual BMW dealership. I end up picking up the car from the repair shop, and as I was taking it home, it was driving completely normal. I had it in sport mode and was high revving and the car was performing at a high level. At this point, I have no idea what's going on or what could possible be wrong. Does anyone have any insight on this possible issue? |

Thats a nice car! Get the codes and dont accelerate hard when you have engine malfunction. Honestly could be many things and need to be eliminated step by step, thats where codes will help. For starters Vanos solenoids may need to be cleaned, happened to me.
