Talking Goodbye 335i, hello...

...Maserati QP.

Was lusting after these quattroporte's for some time now. My 2007 335i has been getting neglected lately, and about a month ago the water pump went out, and I could never find the time to change it out. Either way it was time for an upgrade, so I went to Maserati of Sacramento. I found a car with the color and interior I wanted, took a test drive and never looked back.

It's a 2010 quattroporte with 28k on the odometer. Now I need to change out the waterpump and thermostat on my e90 and sell it. Anyone want a 335?

I'll be doing most of the maintenance, but these are generally pretty reliable. I went with the ZF auto instead of the f1 transmission because I couldn't justify spending about $4000 for a new clutch job every 10-15k miles.

Other than that these things are supposed to be pretty reliable.

Yea wayyyy more reliable than the earlier build models.

Good thing you understand and will be doing the work yourself. As if you didn't services on the Maserati are deep lol

That's why you find them so cheap on the second hand market and with very little milage on them.

OMG, people are leaving the 335 and going to Maserati for better reliability. What have I gotten myself into?!

I'm not a big fan of this body style, but I'm sure it's a blast

In all fairness, I've had my 335 since about 40k miles and it's been very reliable. I did have an issue with a random misfire that would never throw a code. It was remedied with all new injectors and spark plugs. That was at 70k. Other than that and the water pump going out last month at 100k it's been great to me.

No HPFP issues to report.

What a beatiful car! Congrats!!

If u want to have any kind of resale value on that Maserati, I would suggest doing the maintenance at the Maserati dealer.

Who knows though, by the time u sell it the values could be at that point where that wouldn't matter.

Are you going to mod it? exhaust wheel and a drop?!

I really think the issues with the 335's are over-exaggerated most of the time. I have a few friends with them and the only one's that have issues are the one's tuned to sh*t with 500+ hp. Those are the guys replacing fuel pumps, injectors and, coils every other week.

No, not this time. My 335 was lowered and I had clearance issues and suspension issues due to that. This one is going to stay OEM. Maybe a nice set of wheels from a QP gts, or S, but that's as extreme as it will get.

It's powered by a 400hp Ferrari v8... So, not too shabby. For such a large car it's pretty nimble on it's feet.

Other than that, I have had it for only 3 days, so I haven't had time to experiment with it much.

Congrats OP. I see Maseratis every day and one thing I can say is that their exhaust notes are BEAUTIFUL.

Where do you live that you see them every day? Yes, the exhaust note is something else.

Can't really describe it. It has a Ferrari V8, so like a high pitched exotic wail? Ha. Something like that. You have to hear one in person.
