what "band" goes off on your V1 if officer radar is on?

depends on what band the officer is using.
X is the most common even like supermarkets and gas station security system....
K and KA is what you need to be caution!
L, if you got locked in L, that means the officer's laser gun has already ur speed!

you can turn off certain bands. I guess I got into some type of menu on mine today by accident and it was counting back the alphabet or something......I thought it was broke but it's okay now. I would have been pi$$ed because I bought it just over 1 year ago = no warranty.

Ka is CHPs most used radar, typically the radar unit mounted in their cars. K is barely ever used anymore, but it is still used by some PDs and counties with older equipment. X is not used in California, you can turn that off. POP is also not used in California, and you can turn that off as well.

Most CHPs have gone to Laser now but the disadvantage is that they have to be sitting still and aim it like a rifle. Either you'll have to give chase afterwards or you have a partner or two ahead and you give call outs to them. With their in-car radar they can just drive along and radar cars here and there.

So the important ones are Ka and K, and if you get L then either you're getting a false positive, or you just got pwn3d.

I turned off X Band and also programmed K so that it only alerts if the signal is coming from the front. Cops here use either Ka or Laser and those electronic signs that show your speed (sometimes cops hide behind them) use K.

I haven't noticed that around here. The ones that I have seen were using K-band.

Yeah...what Andy said, K & KA. Watch out for KA though, if it hits its almost certain it's radar.

Radar detector only as good as its user.

Haven't seen an officer using K band around here, only stationary signs have it and I don't need to know if the sign is behind me. But if you see an officer using K around here, let me know so I will enable it.

I can tell you this, I have seen TONS of pullovers by this annoying motorcycle cop on the 101 North at around Hampshire through Lindero Cyn..
