How to increase spool noise? :D

Hey guys,

My brother recently bought an FBO EVO X, and the induction sound in that car is insane and I'm trying to think of ways to increase it as much as possible in my car (E92 335i). So far my plan is:

Remove engine bay cowl and install BMS cowl filters
Charge pipe + BOV (any suggestions on which CP to buy?)
DP's (I'm thinking VRSF)

And then if (or when) my turbos die (im at 83k miles on stock turbos) upgrade my turbos.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

If you haven't already, definitely replace the stock intake with something like the BMS DCI

Also, you'll hear a bit more induction noise if you have your diverter valves vent to atmosphere instead of back into your intake. (or charge pipe +bov like you suggested)

Thanks,

I should've listed my current mods. I actually have a BMS DCI and have done the DV VTA mod. I like the DV's venting to atmosphere but I still want to get a BOV eventually (I'm thinking a Synapse)

Lol, you have pretty much all the mods I am planning. Is the spool noticeably louder than stock?

Get the TFT (or other) custom intake pipes. They are much shorter than stock and all metal so a lot more of the compressor sound will come out.

The BMS DCI will help the most, but the custom intake pipes would be the next step.

Will removing the cowl actuallyhelp? Seems a bit extreme to me.

Down pipe will defntley help you increase that spool noise. But better watch out co it will unmask your wastegate rattle if you do have it.down pipe is thinner than the stocker and since it doesnt have the honeycomb it tends to make the turbo spool noticble.

Those TFT intakes look nuts, i'm going to look into that thanks.

From what I've read the cowl makes a huge difference. I'm going to take it off tomorrow and drive without a filter around the block and see how noticeable it is. There are a ton of people that have been running cowlless in all kinds of weather for a long time with no issues.

Nope, planning on ordering a set sometime in the next couple weeks. Still not 100% sure which ones to buy but Im leaning towards VSRF

Edit*
That TFT inlet piping setup looks awesome but expensive. Ill put it on the list of potential future mods lol

one day...
