Smoking clueless...

Alright, I'm at a complete loss here... I've tested the solenoids, I've checked all the lines, everything I can do I've done and I am now on my third set of bum RB's. I can't fathom having bad luck alone so what could be the root cause of failure here? I'm thinking something in the boost actuation system but I don't know what else I can check. Logs were looking fine the last I ran and I don't really feel comfortable doing a wot log now knowing that something in there is messing up. The smoking is constant on throttle, lifting off throttle, etc.. Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!

Valve stem seals?

Have u done a compression/leak down test yet?

Do you have any oil in your exhaust tips or anything?

You mentioned you were on your 3rd set...what happened to the prior 2- same smoking issue? I'd be very surprised if all 3 were bad : /

Get compression across the motor, that will rule out a lot of potential issues.

It's unlikely that three sets of RBs have all had oiling issues, but it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility. IMO stock frame solutions will always have oil control issues, but I agree it seems unlikely that the turbos are the culprit at this point.

Are you certain it is oil that is burning up?

I'll have to do the compression/ leakdown test. And no oil in the tips, I haven't had a chance to pull the dps and check axial play in the turbos yet. It's burning about a quart every 10-14 days.

What about your PCV ? Has it been changed before? Is it possible as other people have mentioned that when it goes bad it starts to suck oil into the intake. If you disconnect it and the problem goes away after some miles of driving ( burns off oil already inside) then you may be on the right track. Or if it is disconnected and it stops smoking at idle. Just a thought.

I was going to suggest something similar.

Flapper could be stuck open maybe??

That's a lot of oil to be burning tho....

Best bet may be pulling the downpipes and checking

Yeah the car will be down for a few weeks while we go through the ropes. Thankfully I have a Harley and the weather is nice!
