N54 335i Fuel Injector issues

Hello all,

I know there are numerous articles or posts regarding the known issue with 335i fuel injectors going faulty. But I couldn't find any posts about if taking the fuel injectors out and cleaning them and recoding them would fix it? Does anyone know if this is possible? Or would the fuel injectors need replaced once faulty? (sorry all I'm a newb) Also if anyone has an updated link of INPA software and would care to share, that would be great and much appreciated. I found some old posts, but they are from years ago, not sure if they still work. I will give it a go once I'm home today. Also if you could link any ODBII USB cables please.

I know there is a recall on them, but unfortunately the recall is "VIN specific". I tried calling my local BMW dealer and BMW North America, and they all said the same thing, my VIN doesn't fall within the recall.

I have a 2007 335i coupe, the car had its HPFP replaced by the previous owner.
I changed my coil pack and spark plugs and noticed that fixed nothing.
Fuel Injectors are about $230-250 each I believe from what I could find.

Sorry for the long entry all.
Any help will be great. THANKS!!!

link any recommended: OBDII USB Cables that were successful for you.
I heard the cheap china ones would not work with INPA software.

Cleaning the injectors in a DI system is hit-or-miss; they're not as easy to clean as injectors in a carb engine. If you're in need of some new injectors, check out the FJ1050 injectors by Intermotor - they're original (!!!) BMW injectors and can be had for $130 bucks a piece at RockAuto. I replaced a bank of injectors with three of those and they've been running flawlessly for 3 months now.

^^^ awesome... thanks a lot brosidelong definitely appreciate it. I will check them out. hopefully I can replace these soon. Did you have to replace the steel fuel line as well? The DIY link below says once you take off the steel fuel line you'll have to replace it, at figure 11

Nope, wasn't aware that it was a one-time use thing. No leaking issues as far as I know.

I believe the nuts on the fuel line can be reused up 10 times and then require replacing.

I had two sets of injectors rebuilt, six of them ended up being "acceptable", then after running them for a few days I had three that were leaking. Altogether I spent around 500 to end up with three old injectors that work, but may fail any time. A new Intermotor set of six is a little less than 800. You do the math.

Yep, Bentley manual says 10 uses for the nuts and fuel line.

Harrychiu012 Yup, have been having this issue since last fall and it seems to have become worse. Have been trying to do research on how to fix these myself and learn how to code them on and off since. Finally getting some results and also some great feed back thanks to everyone so far.

kaigoss69 ahh yeah, i'll definitely have to check out the Intermotor set. Have you all replaced yours with the intermotor set? Are they recommended or of great quality?

Digitalism MiniXP Awesome!!! Thanks, I'm glad its not a one and done! Don't want to have to buy another set of things to fix the fuel injectors.

Also does anyone i see 2 sites, which one is the correct intermotor site, I never been on there before? Not seeing a price for the fuel injectors, just product information.

Yes, I have those exact same injectors in my car
you will have to source the injector seals and decouplers from another site, though.

If they are new injectors you shouldn't need seals. That is what the metal cap is for over the tips. Decouplers will be needed though.

The ones from rockauto are original believe it or not. Even tho it's some generic brand, they actually come from the same factory as the BMW ones.

130 bucks is a steal!!!

I think the new injectors that end with -12 are up to date and don't crap out as easily.

924er brosidelong JamesHawk101 awesome thanks a lot! yeah I know where i can order the decoupler from. They are about 6-8 bucks a piece, so shouldn't be to bad. Also can you all recommend or link me a ODBII Cable that isn't too expensive, or the ones you've used successfully? I don't want to buy a cheap one that may not end up working.

Thanks again all.

Fuel Injection Issues, rough starts, idle issues ? Start with these first

On empty tank pour this in before fill up with "pump gas" http://www.techronworks.com/en-US/products.html

On next empty tank pour this in before fill up with "pump gas" https://gumout.com/fuel-additives/re...ystem-cleaner/

Use top tier gas / gas stations http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers.html

I have used these combinations and it worked for me personally and others I have recommended to who's cars I have tuned before going to buy new injectors, HPFP, or LPFP etc

Some people have been getting -11 from them. I think they are trying to pass them off to whoever they can that doesn't know any better. Beware...

11's are just older from what I understand. I think an 11 for $110 is still a great deal. I am close to pulling the trigger on the rock auto deal. The only "faulty" ones I know of were less than 09 and are in a BMW service bulletin. *IF* you have misfire issues you can get faulty injectors replaced by BMW under that TSB.
