FIOS rocks. Not a single downtime in over a year of service.
About to switch from DirectTV to FIOS TV.

upload must be how fast you upload stuff onto the net for others to download....

i have the middle package.........15/2.......

as you can see....the 15/15....with the higher upload speed is more expensive.

If FIOS is available in your area, and you would like to get it, send me a PM. My wife works for Verizon and can hasten the process if you go through her.

as a VZ employee, obviously I'm biased. But, I must say that it was hard for me to give up DirecTV. I always loved my HDTV setup with DirectV, especially with Tivo.

Once Fios became available, I still hesitated, but I made the switch and I love it. Internet is super fast, nothing even comes close.

As for Fios TV, while I do miss Tivo, having a lot more HD channels is great. And by the end of this year, Fios TV will have the most HD channels than any other company, by far.

Anyone interseted in signing up, please PM me

+1

My neighborhood was one of the first in the US to have it!!

Fios TV sucks IMO though, the UI is really slow, ended up switching back to dish.

The UI can be slow at times, but its a lot faster than the HD Tivo box I had with DirecTV. Not sure if you have the latest box/firmware, but it will get faster as the new software becomes available.

Not sure a slow UI would cause me to switch, but I can tell you that Standard Def TV is a LOT CLEARER than anything DirecTV had. And that was enough to make me switch.

The Dish network box is pretty fast. SD and HD channels are excellent through HDMI. Although I do agree with you, there were some channels VZ didn't have that members in my home frequently watched, so there was more to the story of switching.

Speaking of fios do you know if they enabled the use of external HDD yet?

until Verizon carries NFL Sunday Ticket......

I won't be switching to FiOS TV.........although it's bargain for the TV, Internet, and Phone package!
