Service message on start up - any ideas???
Recently I have got the service message popping up when I start the car. (the same one when it is due for oil change..etc).
Also, I have occasionally got the yellow engine photo show up where half of it is filled in yellow. Only happened handful of times and only limp mode once (threw a limp mode code P3100) And now, a picture showing a square reservoir box with liquid is popping up occasionally within the past couple of days. Car is showing no performance problems and oil is good. Only codes shown are P2A7C / P3100 / H29D1 Any ideas what needs to be done???

The 2A7C is a intake vanos related code i believe ( you can give the vanos solenoid a clean and see if that helps, if not, buy a new oneIf the code still shows up, next step is to check the oil filter and cap )
3100 is there because of the limp mode ( boost disabled ) H29D1 is cylinder 5 misfire ( when were the plugs changed ? start with checking that one. Might be coils.. Might be the injector if the code is still there after changing plug and coil ) |

All the maintenance symbols are listed in the manual that came with the car.

I will clean the vanos see if that helps (hasn't happened since) The reservoir thing means coolant is low. Is this common if I drive the car pretty hard and is it something I can just fill up?

Yes, you can definitely fill it up, but it shouldn't go low just by driving the car hard... i'd take a look underneath th car and see if you can spot any coolant there.. Might have a leak somewhere.
