Help me diagnose cylinder 5 codes.
I went WOT and got the following codes and i limped home with the check engine light initially flashing. I tried turning it off and then back on but car was still in limp mode. I drove another 2 miles and then the check engine light went solid and the engine ran more normal but the check engine light remained on.
P0305 - Cylinder 5 misfire detected P2E1C - Ignition cylinder 5 (Burn time monitoring) P29D1 - Misfire cylinder 5 I would imagine that it is one of 3 but I am curious at to how to diagnose the problem. I will switch the cylinder 5 coil to see if it follows and if that doesn't work what next? Plugs have 11k on them and they were replaced in Mar 2013 Injectors were replaced under warranty with part number 13538616079 in 09/2013 and they have almost 8k on them Coils were replaced in Sept 2014 and they have about 4k on them. Your plan is good swap the coils and see if misfire follows. Then move on to new plugs...it's not a bad idea to replace plugs every 10K miles on a tuned car. Last possibility is injectors if coils and plugs don't solve misfires. Good luck!

Sounds good that is what I will do. I have a set of new NGK plugs but I never got them to run right on my car and they are gapped perfect. I always had a rough idle at startup and then they would run smoother but maybe that is normal.

Not to thread jack but are you doing the Wannagofast in Clayton in Sept? Btw, I run the NGKs gapped at .024-.025 and besides taking just a hair longer to start they're very smooth even when cold.

It closed out crazy fast. I wanted Saturday and logged in 6 or 7 minutes after registration opened and it was already filled but I did make it in for Sunday. I was hoping some other Wedge/BQ guys would be there.

I remember reading something about some relationship with cylinder 5 and the PCV valve /system. It may be something to check if you don't have any success with the other suggestions
