Production ready BMW M2 spotted in Alpine White
BIMMERPOST NEWS Production ready BMW M2 spotted in Alpine White The BMW M2 (F87) prototype has moved onto the final stage before its long awaited reveal. Seen here finally is a prototype in a color other than black -- Alpine White. Alpine White will be among the 4 colors that the M2 launches in. The others include Long Beach Blue (small peek here), Black Sapphire and Mineral Grey. These will be paired with a single interior choice -- black with blue accent stitching. As we've shared before, the engine will be an N55 and will produce 370 PS (DIN) (= 365 hp) and 465Nm torque (= 343 lb-ft). The engine will also feature an "over boost" of +35Nm (25 lb-ft), in the low to mid range RPM. |

I just hope the front bumper ends up looking a little more aggressive. As it stands now, it reminds me of the LCI 128i front bumper.

At the point (such as this) where I am over-ready for the reveal, I try to convince myself that the final stages of testing and refinement will make the long, long wait worthwhile.

Love this shot:
P.S. This looks more like a planned photoshoot than spy shots

I know, I was just saying that this doesn't help answer that question. I'd be surprised if it's not standard though.

If that looks like a 128i to you then I suggest perhaps you need new glasses. Lol. |

The ride height (fender gap) for these mules seems to be lower than the M3/M4s. I wonder are they going to stay that way in a production car. I sure hope so. |

I haven't been keeping up with every little detail about this release, and obviously that doesn't look like a 128. It'll be a bit more pleasing if it ends up looking similar to that.

Regarding refinement, I don't have any serious expectations from a '2 series'. I'll be surprised if it will even have a HUD or full leather. Expect a lot of plastic everywhere and will be lucky if they don't rattle. At around this price point, I see the primary reason for going for an M2 is not refinement, nor comfort, nor practicality. It will be performance and fun in driving as a DD. I believe the corvette will be far better than the M2 in both those aspects. But let us see. |
