Does this kind of damage occur during shipping?

Bought these on the forum and the seller is stating that these were damaged during shipping (box is in perfect condition and everything was bubble wrapped) - he didn't remove them himself so he likely doesn't know how hard it is to remove the struts from the knuckle. I'll let the image speak for itself. I won't mention the user's screen name yet.

Yeah I'm so frugal and I guess suspension stuff is the one thing you don't want to go cheap with, besides sway bars etc. Hoping paypal can make this right.

This looks like a deal that was insured and hoping that someone would be covered...UPS won't cover it...not sure about USPS.

Fedex insured but the money goes to the shipper. I need to work with paypal but I sent the money via friends and family. Anyone here successfully file a claim after sending money via friends and family? I have some corporate connections there through work but I'd prefer not going that route.

That does not look like shipping damage. Also yo may have a problem with paypal since you gifted the money. There is no resolution system for gifts.

First off..unless the seller is your Mom, don't gift, ever!

Second...the seller is a dickhead. He misrepresented the product. Out him so we can destroy his credibility and maybe you have a shot getting your hard-earned $$ back. Just my .02

Yeah, I'm an idiot and paid on the 4th of july, drunk from the mobile app... I have given the user 24hrs to refund me before I out him. He plans to sell his car on e90post so I'm hoping that I have some leverage.

Major props for admitting that. That's something I would do...drunk and feeling good. I get it.

Sorry man. I hope it works out for you. Go to PP just for grins...Ive heard of times where they have conceited and paid. Just a thought. Screw the seller for not being straight.

No need to stay hidden as I am a stand up guy and was up front with these coilovers just as anything else I ever posted up for sale. These were in excellent condition, with 0 damages. As I told the buyer via text message, there were no damages on anything prior to shipping. If it wasn't damaged during shipping, then what am I to believe?

As for this comment, Id've never get to a point so low as to do something as this.

As for the buyer, I will only respond to you through this post as I don't want anyone thinking I have anything to hide. I've already started a claim through FedEx, and I will not provide any refund on this. You do what you must.

I don't trust my mom with PayPal either.

You can't get Anything back when you gift payment. Always worth paying the extra 3% to send as a regular payment.

Lol if that is shipping damage then the box would have to be smushed. Something shady going on here.

It sounds like precisely what you're doing. Very shady.

Those have some heavy duty smashing and bending going on there. No way in hell that happened during shipping.

If you enlarge the pic in the seller's fs thread it almost look like you can see imperfection around the bottom edge but of course no straight on shots because that would reveal the fucked up hammer time job we all see here in this thread.

Clever and major weak sauce.
