Not even going to give Lebron a shot? He carries a whole team all by himself , proved that last year.

A more accurate determination will depend on how teams are playing in April. Health is a big factor as well.

With Bynum back and if Kobe's finger is fine, my bet is the Lakers. Trade deadline is Thursday and if San Antonio picks up someone like Artest, it could be them again.

I really think the Pistons over the Lakers, repeat of 2004. However, the series will be much closer. With the talent so close in the West, coaching and intangibles will probably play a bigger factor. L.A. has the coaching, and the intangibles--Kobe Bryant who with or without a bad pinky is the best closer in the NBA. Plus, they dumped their two biggest liabilities from last year: Smush Parker and Kwame Brown. (In my opinion, Smush Parker's poor play was the biggest factor in the Lakers losing the series to Phoenix.)
In the East, besides Boston, there is no one in the East that can compete with Detroit. Also, concerning Boston, there's not much precedence for a terrible team--i.e. last year's Celtics--making it to the Finals the next year. The Wizards may have Arenas back, but it's hard to believe he'd be at 100%. On the other hand, I thought the Pistons would win it last year. I wouldn't bet on any team to win it right now.

Kurt Thomas to the Spurs for Barry/Elson. VERY good move for the Spurs. Kurt Thomas can still hit the open J and is still a good defender.

On another note of course Shaq would make his "comeback"/ first game with the Suns against the Lakers. I hope the Lakers wipe the floor with them tonight! |

I am still liking the Spurs to repeat. Yes, their core players are all still the same and they are getting older. yes, they haven't been doing well lately. Pop is just making sure they're all fresh when it comes time to run down the rest of the west which is going to be tough... I only see Dallas and LA giving them REAL big troubles. I'll set a dark horse in the east (kind of) though in the Pistons. They've been quietly eating up the east, and they proved that they can hang with the Big Three in Boston. |

More crazy things have happened before!
Dirk losing a 2-0 lead... GS beats the juggernaut of the west... Pistons ate the super Lakers team... J-kidd really does bring his team 360 degrees around! They went to the finals, went to semis, first round, then he leaves! |

GS = Hot streak faced the right team, wasn't that much of an upset to me. Lakers = Injuries galore. Malone being the key.

Yea, anything can happen. Spurs are the champs until someone beats them. They are always one of the favorites. I've said that about them all year. The Lakers just seem to be playing with the passion/fervor that's hard to match right now. I see Boston playing the same way.

SUNS, Maybe they have proven they got the offense. Maybe now Shaq can help with defense.
Nash deserves it after what the Spurs did, fucking cowards. And people talk shit about the Pat's, such a joke.
