Ordered 245s mpss non run flats, will they fit??
My 235 came with the all season 225 square setup.
I ordered 245/35/18 pilot super sports for the rear.... Will they fit? |

Hmm...If all 4 wheels in the square setup are identical also in ET value, the rears will protrude outside more than those of the staggered setup which have less offset than the fronts. When you put 245s on them, they might scrub the wheel arches... Worth checking first, imho.

Michelin says that the rim width needs to be 8-9.5 inches. So they do not fit on your 7.5 inch rims.

Even if you could get them on the rims, they would not perform as well as the original sized tire due to the pinching effect at the rim which would cause a smaller contact patch (tire/road interface).

Lol.. So much misinformation on this thread.
Yes, 245/35 will fit on your 7.5 no problem. How do I know? I did it on mine. Is it recommended? Probably not. But is fitting a 245 on a 10.5 recommended also? |

I have a 135 with 7.5" wheels up front, max tire width is 225mm. If you put a 235 or larger they may fit but with zero benefits, you are wasting your money.

At a maximum they'd be pinched by 10mm per side, which in all of wheel atrocities is not huge.
The guys stretching tires to their wits end are doing more of a dis-service. Whether or not the fitment looks right or handles properly is a different story than if they'll fit or not.

All we can say is that Michelin says do not put them on rims smaller than 8". Will it work, maybe. Will it void the tire warranty, yes.

I need to double check which size rims my rear wheels are. I am certain they are 8 inch I would love to go 255 but cant justify spending on aftermarket wheels ever when I am not heavily tracking it. BMW really phucked the M235 with the lack of proper stock wheels. The rears should be a minimum of 255 at least. |

Wow, I am upset that my fronts are 7.5", but a 225 has been sufficient so far. If I had 7.5" wheels on all corners I would definitely get aftermarket wheels.

If you are tracking your car, it is even more important to stay away from a wide tire on a narrow wheel.
You will have to run lower pressures to flatten out the thread, resulting in more sidewall flex and other complications. There is no doubt that a 225 shall perform better on a 7.5'' wheel than a 245. For race purposes, a tire performs better when it's mounted on the maximum width of wheel the tire manufacturer recommends. Now, if the only consideration is bling then that's another story completely..... |

After all, one can mount a railroad crosstie on the front of a car and use it for a bumper, but it won't really function as well as the bumper designed for the vehicle by either the OEM or an aftermarket supplier. |
