Wedge/MHD E60 335xi Mustang Dyno (425awhp/500wtq)

Dynoed this morning so figured i'd post up the results. Shop fan setup was very poor so my IAT's skyrocketed and as a result the car started to pull timing. On the road I have zero timing corrections across all cylinders and the car runs extremely well. Anyways I only have the graph of the attempted stock run and the first pull on the dyno. The second pull which isn't on the graph it made 425awhp and 500awtq. Tried to do a baseline pull but it clearly didn't work out too well... Maybe something to do with the big E85 mix running stage 0? Anyways baseline is kinda useless since peak numbers are high due to all the spikes the dyno picked up. I'm pretty pleased with these numbers on a mustang dyno. My friends B8 S4 with APR stage 1 only made 330awhp so it does read a bit low.

Extremely happy with the Wedge flash. I've been through JB4, JB4 backend flash, Cobb, Cobb w/ Motiv, and now MHD with Wedge. He is extremely responsive/helpful and the car performs amazingly.

Yup that's next up on the list but for xi the whole subframe has to be dropped. Either way eventually will do the VRSF inlets most likely

Nice! Same mods as me and around the same horsepower... Considering this is a mustang dyno.

It's nice to see some XI's with good numbers!

Congrats, also, a Mustang dyno can rate from 10%-15% lower than a Dynojet

holy shit, your IAFs go from 120 to 200F??? No wonder you're pulling timing, that's insanely high. Definitely a reason you're dropping off 13 deg past 5500 (but impressive that it can hold up till then at those temps, e85 works some serious magic. I can't do 5-6 degrees at even 120 IAT on 91 )

I don't know what that wgdc # means but you aren't holding boost target pas 4700, might just be tired turbos

Who cares if the IATs are high? The E85 is cooling everything down in combustion

The DME cares and pulls timing. If his IATs were lower, no timing pulls which would lead to more power.

I'm assuming all tuners by now reduce IATs effect on timing with their E85 tunes

On my z06 its zeroed out...pretty sure every person on every platform does it this way when running e85

Yea terrible fan setup at that shop. On the street timing is perfect with little to no corrections. Here are some logs from the night before the dyno for comparison

http://datazap.me/u/psmith95/log-143...og=1&data=4-18

In terms of boost falling off that's just how the stock turbos operate i'm pretty sure. Map is supposed to peak around 21 PSI then taper to 15-16 stock turbos can't hold that target of 20 to redline

good log, you can see that the car has no problem in the first pull (3rd?), then in 4th you get a timing pull at ~5500. The IAT rose almost 20F and there are no other real changes between the two, so that looks like you're pushing it about as far as you can imo. (also really reinforces the difference between IAT ~100f vs ~200f)

http://datazap.me/u/psmith95/log-143...-22&mark=50-89

makes sense on the boost, I have a dyno map where I was ~e60 and saw similar boost numbers (my target was tapered so I attributed it more to that, but it looks to be the same curve regardless of my target or yours so I guess that's a hardware limit)

We dont.... The table you are referencing is a preventitive for high IAT that will lead to knock after the breaking point of the given Fuel to IAT etc........

By making the table completely null, you are allow the chance for real knock occurences leading to timing corrections rather than to have the DME pull timing to avoid real knock occurrences

E85 is not indestructible to heat, very resistant yes, but it does have its breaking point ( E30 Test Source with table null ) Dont forget seasonable blends and not everyone keeps in mind of this.

It fine if you do it on your own car but no tuner should do it in blind ignorance , monkey see monkey do, without knowing what the breaking point is for the given fuel type / iat / load / timing .

The only way to know this is by testing. Leaving an entire table null is not testing, but a shortcut

Nice numbers! This make me want to do an E30 Wedge MHD tune. I'm currently on the BMS race flash with JB4 running E30, so around 9 degrees of timing and 18psi tapering to 15psi.
