RMP mortors
Hello everyone,
New to this form. I was looking to get Fornt and back rotors/discs/sensors replaced on my 2011 323i. I searched on the forum for indy shops and got the following pricing: Import Auto in Guelph About $1,000 RMP=780 KTM : 977.95 till BMW Dealer Canada: $1,245.90 Rockauto $608CAD for parts. So RMP users textar pads and rotors. KTM and the Guelph dealer uses zimmermann. Are the textar discs good? RMP said it will take a couple of hours for the brake job. Also RMP wants me to drop off the car for the day. I told them i can wait for a couple of hours for the brake job but they are insisting i drop off the vehicle. Not sure why because i am setting up the appointment for 2 weeks from now on and dont want to pay $40 for the rental and dont have anyone to pick me up and drop me off. I also live about 100kms from the shop so it makes sense for me to wait. Is there something fishy about the place? Why are they so insistent for me to drop the car for the day? BTW i was on the phone with Jhonny |

Nothing fishy about the place. Just bring ear plugs while you wait, or enjoy the entertainment value of Rocco blasting his staff with profanities as he works on your car.
He does good work though. |

I can vouch for RMP being great, have had a bunch of work done by them. But personally, I wouldn't drive 100km+ one way, just to save a few bucks. That's just too much travel and personal time.

I'd also throw these guys in the mix as great options:
Leslie Du in Markham Darren (DC Motorwerx) in thornhill You can PM me for contact info if needed. Also, certain dealers offer forum discounts around 20% for parts (BMW Mississauga, Maranello BMW in Vaughan)

It's probably a scheduling thing... RMP's probably busy.
I'll vouch for RMP 200%

ive been to RMP.. rocco does good work but the craziness was little too much for me with the yelling and throwing of stuff.. gets kind of awkward if you're waiting around... I get most of my stuff done at KTM now. Kosta is also very good and the price difference is from the better parts. I recently had my brakes done through him i got the cross drilled zimmermann rotors and akebono pads.. they work great and i have no complaints about the parts or the brake job. Any of these indy shops i would recommend you drop your car for the day, they usually have a bunch of cars to work on in the day. plus dealing with suppliers and customers dropping in and delivering parts.... it usually takes them slightly longer compared to dealership. I would also recommend Ivo at columbus automotive.

+1 for Darren @ DC Autowerks. He is now my go-to guy for my 135i. Him and his employee are very thorough, very detailed, and know how to work on our n54/n55 engines. Location is great too as I don't have to drive all the way to nowhere. If I DO have to / willing to drive, I will DEFINATELY go to IVO @ Columbus Automotive. |

+1000 For RMP!
I was there today, he has new staff (old guy make too many mistake i think thats why he was upset) I spoke with him today, very busy. If you need to wait he will find time. Just tell him RMP use Textar brake on my car, very good for two years! |

RMP does great work and very reasonably priced, they did Textar on my brakes as well. only issue is the shop was far for me and the timings (9-5) were to hard with work.
Lesile Du does great work !! Hes done most of the stuff on my car, prices are more than fair and the hours he works are also very convenient. I would recommend giving him a call as well. |

The problem is i live in kitcener and have a ppointment downtown at 01:45. I said i can come in at 9 and wait till 12.
He insisted on a rental car. There is a $200 difference between Kosta and RMP dont know if better parts are $200 better. I am kinda cheap that way :-) |
