this is for my new York members
car e90 2008 335xi STOCK!!
I am planning to do the jb4 as my first mod, but as I researched the jb4 constantly erases codes which is good for catless down pipes
however I am not going that route as yet but I want to install the jb4 and I would like to know will my car pass nys inspections with a jb4 plugged in or I would have to remove it everytime, or can I put it in such a mode where its "off" ?

Yes you will pass just make sure it's in map 0 when it's taken in for inspection so it doesn't block the obd2 port. If you install a backend flash, that will muddy things. Just jb4 and you are fine.

Cool thanks one more thing after setting map to 0 should i drive the car around to ready all monitors or there is no need fo that?

Last time I ran an NY inspection on my N54 with JB4, forgot to change it to map 0 and it was still fine. It couldn't read the readiness status, as I had 3 not ready and still passed.
