cornering lights?

I just got my m235i xdrive a few weeks ago and noticed that it doesn't seem to have cornering lights like most other newer bimmers. Since my 335is didn't have fog lights, they were located in the inner headlight and my wife's 320i has them in the fog lights. Any idea why our cars don't have them? It's not a big deal I suppose not having them I just find it curious.

the regular headlights are adaptive, so they move side to side when you're cornering. why would you need dedicated cornering lights?

Yeah I know, but my 335is had adaptive xenons as does my wife's 320 and they both have cornering lights too. I think the idea is they light up the corner a bit better than adaptive xenons can as those can only swivel so far.

Yeah, with empty inner lights it seems like a waste, doesn't it. In my previous BMW (F10) I didn't have adaptive lights, so understood no bulbs in the inner lights - but when ordering my M235i I ticked adaptive headlights and was sure I would have the inner lights used for that purpose (especially that the M235i doesn't have fogs). To my dismay, the car came without bulbs in the inner "tubes" - again! I wonder if halogen cornering lights could be retrofitted into the inner tubes, and work unisono with the xenons... Anyone knows?

And our cars have extra radiators for oil and coolant were the fogs would normally go.

Yeah it is very strange. I suppose I don't really care that much as I'm not sure they really did much anyways.

Your E92's cornering lights utilize the inner headlight bowl/eye & your wife's 320 uses her fog lights for the function. Like our F22's, an F3x without fog lights won't have cornering lights.

Your F10 would've had them. If you got a 228 with fogs you would've had them. The F22 doesn't use the inner lights like the F10 does.

There's no room for cornering lights. I'd rather have extra cooling than a light at only barely lights up the area in which I'm going.

Yeah I agree about it being better to have more cooling than cornering lights.
