DIY Umnitza Orion V4 and Full blackout Done

Finally grow a pair and attempted this.
It's time consuming, labor intensive and extremely rewarding when you are done.
Got my self morimoto retro rubber (from retrofit source) to make sure the headlights were properly sealed as well as connector H8 Male pigtails for OEM connection.
I also got standard Ebay carbon fiber eyebrows (mounted inside the headlight)
the Orions are not a perfect fit as the little ring is smaller than the OEM and the large ring is a hair larger.
anyhow, very pleased with the way it came out and the rings are stupid bright. they also dim like OEMs
Sorry for the mess.

Opening the headlight

OEM ring - Orion side by side

mounting the rings after paint

close up

headlight back together

testing

all done

need a good and sunny day to take pics. the iphone can't capture the brightness.
very happy and no errors.
i was quoted almost 1400 from OSS to do this, i ended up spending less than 400 and my time plus I learned something new. very rewarding mod and saved 1K that will over over the meth kit

cheers

you have an E90 so it's a little more difficult to get apart but believe me, it's not that difficult. for the longest time i was ready to pay oss to do mines because i was so afraid of messing up. Even more because this is my daily and i had no backup plan
this is one of those jobs that you can't rush

Just buy h8/9006 pigtails to online (male) and you will be able to use the Factory angel eye connector. Another thing, I bought the umnitza kit, it comes with its own driver to power the led rings and dim like factory plus zero errors. If you buy ring of eBay or something you will have to put a driver or resistor inline and provably code out bulb errors.
As far as making the led rings stay in place using Oem connectors (and a great diy for the whole thing) follow this link
