BimmerF30_335i sportline build thread- updated 5-21-16

How she sits currently:

My first car was a E60 BMW 525i. For me, it was a very special car as that was when I first began modding and just learning about cars in general. I began practicing wrapping, experimenting with plasti dip, and blowing money on upgrades. One of my favorite upgrades was installing a sport mode button, wrapping the interior trim, and plasti dipping the wheels. I also learned a special lesson on ordering crap from eBay and making sure to use the forums before making a purchase (wasted about $600 on a lip that ended up being a shade different and having horrible fitment). Here's a couple pictures of my old car.

My old car and the new one:

When I first started researching on which new car to buy, I was dead set on the e92 335i. I saw a couple that I really liked, and then the dealership near me got a 335is in stock; black on red and it was a beauty. And then I saw that it had been in a prior accident so that was crossed off my list. The next car I saw was a e92 335i, but there were a lot of stuff missing that I was wanting. I expanded my search and thats when I first found the F30. I found an amazing deal that I had to go check it out. It was nearly fully loaded, except for heated steering wheel and the lane assist crap, but that wasn't a big deal. It was also a 2012, so there were no M sport models available for that year, which I didn't know about until later. That's probably my only regret that I didn't end up with an M sport (or a 4 series haha). But with everything I've done, I absolutely love my car.

When I first got her:

Some more random pictures:

After ordering my foam cannon and pressure washer. Makes washing my car so much easier and fun:

One of the first things I did was change out the grills to gloss black. If I could go back, I would have instead got the M3 style grills, but I like these too.

Next I changed the fog lights to GP thunder 7500K. They seemed white at first, but when I changed the fogs to 6000K LED's, I realized how terrible they were. Here's a comparison pic of the fogs:

Next up were some nice concave wheels. I had ordered the VMR V718 at first, but the company I got them from were out of stock, so i ended up with the VMR V710 which I love so far. I had some replica 437's ordered, but after a small fiasco, I canceled the order. Here's when I first got the wheels in:

It was soon after this that I was really hit with the mod bug and began ordering a crazy amount of stuff.

M pedal set and the sportline rubber mats:

LED white turn signal bulbs, blacked out reflectors, H style bumper lip, and painted bumper whiskers

Carbon fiber mirror caps:

Interior wrap with carbon fiber:

Carbon fiber wrapped H style lip:

Carbon fiber wrapped door handles:

Carbon fiber rear spoiler:

Some new rubber to replace the run flats:

Meisterschaft GTC exhaust:

aFe magnum stage 2 intake:

DIY perforated steering wheel cover:

LCI gloss black AC trim:

Custom matte black racing stripes in M performance style:

Matte black rocker panel stripes with the m performance lettering. Probably gonna end up taking the lettering off but it does add a nice contrast.

Current Mod List:

Double slat kidney grills
F80 V type spoiler
VMR V710 19" wheels with 245-40-19 and 275-35-19 tires
LED white turn signal bulbs
LED 6000K fog lights
Blacked out reflectors
Bumper whiskers in black
Meisterschaft GTC 2 x 102 mm with black tips
aFe stage 2 magnum force intake
H style front lip
CF wrapped door handles
DIY steering wheel cover
Carbon fiber interior wrap
LCI gloss black AC Trim with ambient lighting
Custom M performance style matte black racing stripes
M pedal set
Sportline rubber mats
Rocker panel matte black vinyl
Coded the following:
-DVD in motion
-tire pressure and temp
-remember last ASS setting
-recognize front/rear LED bulbs
-close windows/sunroof with key fob
-Anti-dazzle high beam assist
-some other stuff as well

Stuff I might do in the future:

suggestions?

Videos of the exhaust and intake in action:

Nice jobs, but your slanted mounted back numberplate blows the show
I got my interior already CF wrapped, no big deal but much patience at work.

I typically leave it off unless I go out of town. Gotten stopped too many times for no front plate. You mind posting a pic or two of your interior?

Plasti dipped the lip and I think it looks much better now. Actually got a decent shine with the glossifier.

@chaudhrysn, you "think" you're done. The BUG won't go away until it consumes your bank account. I started with the SportsLine model like yours.

the TIC is not mandatory if you do not track your car often.
The other charge pipe (driver side) intercooler to throttle body is the one that is prone to failure

Not necessarily. If you follow the line down, you'll find a quad hole to insert a flat screwdriver. Don't use it as a power amp and bend up! Insert it 3/4in and now grab the whole tool and pull gently to build up power against it. If the power is high enough, the handle will jump a little up and stops than hanging into its hooks. Try to remove it carefully parallel up and down same time to avoid damage the hooks behind it.
To reinstall I would suggest that you should start with the lower side, just take a close look at the master hooks before attaching the handle final before pressing it back to the hold. The master hooks are longer and guides the handle up and down to its final set.
Obey the temperature surrounds you, I would not start below 15°C (convert that to your values ).

You definitely appreciate the JB when you go back to stock.

I used to hate driving to the dealership back when my car was still under warranty because i had to remove the tune

I ordered the offered 1500 x 300mm and had lots of material left. Wont bother me, perhaps my next victims are the blue accent lines inside, must be a good match to the CF wrapped interior so far.
