Just a weird thing I notice in my car the time always gets slower compared to my watch or phone by like 5 min over a two week period . I keep going into to idrive to put it forward again. I am only driver ...anyone else get this?

Haven't had my car long enough to notice, but with access to GPS and cell networks you'd think it could set the time itself and stay accurate.

Clearly you are experiencing time dilation as expressed by the theory of relativity. If you could just slow down a bit (say to a much smaller fraction of the speed of light, relative to your other clocks outside the car), the problem should correct itself.

(And more seriously, no, I have never observed this phenomenon in my car).

In the iDrive menu, I have under Settings/Time & Date/Time the option to adjust automatically the time according to Time Zone. But I am living in Europe and standard options may differ.

This is true and I experience it as well. The clock will only adjust to the correct time, if you call up BMW online. The internet connection resets the time. Silly but true. You won't experience this, if you use BMW online frequently, which I don't.

I recall the clock in my F30 always being off by 2 minutes compared to my cell phone. I think there was a way to disable the auto-sync in the iDrive. Not sure why their clock would be offset (unless it's just some crazy latency in the sync procedure).

Haven't had any issues in my F23 but it has the newer Nav unit so maybe it's something that got fixed.
