What is beneath the rear passenger seat?
I know the low pressure fuel pump assembly is there somewhere for one... but is it on the rear passenger side? The reason I ask is whenever I have a passenger sat there... I can smell fuel! The smell usually goes away after a good five minutes but it is strong to the point that I need to ventilate by opening windows...
I have ordered some dye and a UV light... I think there may be a leak somewhere and this could explain why I have used 1/2 of fuel in 5 days rather than 1/4... no change in driving style, no air con on, tyre pressures spot on, traffic free journeying... Or could it be evap related? No codes... but I remember when my evap went on my S3 and I replaced it after 6 years at 64,000 miles. Well my N52B25 is now 8 years and near 80,000 miles. Thanks |

The low pressure fuel pump controller is mounted behind the o/s rear seat. The access cover to the petrol tanks is under the rear seat. Sounds like your fuel pump/sender unit may be leaking where it fits into the tank.

Personally I would not drive the car until it is sorted out. Seriously, you are taking a massive risk driving the car in that condition. Your phone could cause fuel vapour to ignite. Your cloths could cause a static charge. Wiring, the list goes on. Do yourself a favour and don’t drive it.

Yes you want to be sure this is sealed properly! Otherwise a spark\naked flame could cause the whole cabin to ignite like a cylinder! Plus your seats may be soaked in petrol
