I would only get either
A. H&R springs (sport and supersport) B. Eibach pro springs. Both German brands made for German cars. They design springs/coils/suspension ware for the German DTM race cars, so they know the entire configuration of the cars inside out. Both are priced very similar and not too expensive. |

Not sure about the Eibach but if you're going Supersport H&R, upgrade the shocks too.

You can get a shop to cut your current springs and it'll lower the car. The best part about cutting your springs is that the spring rate is already matched to your OE shocks/struts.

You will have to provide some details on the wheel and tire specs for someone to be able to answer that.

looks good to me...
I have never considered cutting springs, except maybe in '88 when I was in high school and I wanted to get the Nissan PU as low to ground as possible on a lunch money budget.
IMO, your car looks good as is, it doesn't NEED to be lowered. I'm glad you posted this. I'm planning a wheel upgrade and was thinking I 'needed' a suspension mod at the same time to make it look 'right'. After seeing yours, I now know the suspension can wait. My plan is to get a few more miles out of the OEM parts and then 'spring' for the BMW Performance suspension kit. If you WANT to lower it, the sport springs mentioned will be more than fine, TC Kline's are nice too from what I hear. I'd image they are all, within margin of error, the same... Depending on mileage, you may want to go ahead and pull the trigger on new shocks too, lots of deals on spring/shock combos out there. Of course, then that brings entry-level coilover sets into the equation... Tis the quandary of upgrades. |
