235 auto trans
Does anyone have this issue..
The first to second shift using either paddles or stick the car drops power for a few seconds after the switch in 2nd gear at anything over half throttle. Basically all the lower gears till 4 then it shifts fast and hard no power drop This happens in sport and sport+ modes Going to dealer Friday just wanted to see if anyone else had the issue car has 3000 miles My 335 had no issues was a beast from day one no tune or anything |

Ive noticed that if you aren't in sport + or dsc off mode and under hard acceleration in lower gears that power is limited. I imagine what you and I are experiencing is the assists cutting power to the wheels and or some wheel spin which you will feel loss of power. You notice in lower gears because of gear ratio of trans and tq converter with all the hp/tq this car has. I also noticed the car is noticeably quicker after engine and tire tread have heated up some.

Yes, I have the same issue as OP. It hesitates changing gears in manual at WOT at high revs. It's fine changing when left in D or DS.
Had it checked by dealer last month during first service, but they didn't find anything wrong. Spoke with the service manager and he noticed the same thing on their demo M235 too.

Ok got the car back and they did do a software update to it.
There is absolutely no hesitation or delay in shifts now. It shifts very aggressive and there is more popping from the exhaust on up shifts even at part throttle about 4000-4500 rpm Anybody having this issue have them install the update I will look at my paperwork to see if there is any info on what type of update it was called |

I have an appointment at the dealership this Saturday to look over this issue. It will help me if you could find information on software patch and posted in here. Thank you so much.

I heard back from my dealer and they did this update to my car SIB 12 09 15 (ENCODED CONTROL UNITS).
The car feels way better and no more hesitation. Gear shifting is also more accurate on Sport and Sport+ mode. |
