car shaking when accelerating
I've just done the valve cover gasket, 6 new ignition coils, & 5/6 new iridium laser cut plugs on my n52 and the car was working wonderfully for about a week until last night I started it and noticed that while accelerating it was shaking with hesitation and I got a check engine light.
Reason why I did 5/6 plugs was because ecs tuning screwed me on one plug and it was faulty I found this out when I was doing the tunenup and with the plug installed my car ran like a bag, changed it to the old one I had in and everything was good. Anyone got an idea what is going on? I heard the vanos motors can reset? Or the eccentric valve can reset. Later on today a buddy is coming by with a scanner to check the check engine light and see what I get. I'll keep you guys posted but if you guys have any info or advice let me know. Thanks!!! |

Probably a misfire, related to one of the coils or likely the last of the old plugs. I doubt ECS knew the one plug was bad, so it may be a bit of a stretch to say they screwed you.
Edit: Maybe the breather hose at the back of the VC wasn't firmly connected and popped off. I missed connecting mine when I did the VCG and checked all sorts of things when it ran like crap before finally noticing that hose was off. |
