The saga of my wrecked M235i continues

Some of you guys might remember my previous post where a negligent driver backed into my nearly brand new '15 M235i. Well I received the car back from Murray Body Works in Denver, the only "BMW certified" shop in Colorado mind you.

The work product I received back from Body works can only be described as awful. The new rear bumper in a complete paint mismatch. The clearcoat on the hard body parts (door, fender, trunk lid) has numerous bubbles in it. The alignment that was performed now has the steering wheel approximately 20-25 degrees off center when going straight. And the icing on the cake is the "detailer" put swirl marks and holograms all over my car even the areas that weren't resprayed. All of this took 6 weeks for the shop to complete. I also have some random BMW interior clips sitting in the cup holder of the car, not sure where they belong or what part will fall off.

I called the client adviser from Murray and sent him photos and was told this is "normal variation" and they can't guarantee it will be any better the 2nd try.

The good news...State Farm says I can take my car somewhere else to get fixed Now I need to find a good shop. I am all ears if anyone has recommendations in Colorado.
Mandatory photos of sh!t work:

Make a point to send this documentation and a formal complaint to BMW NA. If this shop is doing this shoddy a work to other BMWs while being BMW certified, a certain amount of documented complaints filed will endanger its certification. Looks to me like BMW NA needs to turn that over in your state.

Sorry, man. Truly bummed for you.

This guy is full of it. That is not normal variation, it is mismatched paint. I guess as long as you are going to get it fixed it's ok, but they shouldn't get away with that. I think you could have refused to sign for the car. Six weeks for a repair? What a nightmare. Best of luck.

That is a shame, sorry for you
Saddly, what I see is the average result in Mexico´s shops... Now I can see that is everywhere.
That is why I leave dents and swirls where they are, If I decide to repair them, there is a good chance of color mismatch and new "details".
The same for warranty issues at the dealer.
At least I hope they are taking good care of you giving you nice loaners and so.

6 weeks is great!!! I took between 3 and 4 months for mine! My repairs were pristine however. This is just sad!!

Call BimmerHaus. They don't do bodywork, but they can give you recommendations. I needed some small work done, and they sent me to Precision. The place is in Broomfield, so it might be a bit out of your way.

Good luck.

I can't believe they even tried to give you the car back with the bumper that far off! Unbelievable, that isn't even remotely close to a match.

It's pretty hard for body shops to match just bumpers perfect because they do not blend in the paint at all with the rest of the car, so it stands out more.

I have had two different cars with bumpers painted. One done by a top BMW dealer in the country. Both were not perfect matches. One had to get painted again.
I would get them to redo that though, it's really bad.

That's terrible, and it's alarming that a BMW certified shop is doing such shoddy work -- the paint is awful and the steering misalignment is inexcusable. Was it a parking lot collision?

I just got my 228i back after a rear-end collision repair job which took four months -- the car took a big hit thanks to the inattentive guy who plowed into my car at a stop sign, but the BMW certified shop did a remarkable job with the repair, and the black sapphire metallic paint job on the trunk/bumper/quarter panels looks like a perfect match (though obviously it's only original once.) The car drives exactly as it did before the accident.

I have MW paint and there is no way to tell it was ever painted unless you look under the car and see the tell tell signs of over spray. It is an exact match. They use computer aided matching to get the color perfect. It can be done!

I used to live in CO and had work done by them and they sucked. Crappy work and crappy customer service. I had a deep scratch and needed the rear side panel repainted. They forgot to fully attach my bumper when moving the car and trashed it. The paint job on the side panel had dirt trapped in the paint creating visible bumps. Did I mention they suck?
