Two MASSIVE door dings in two days
Went nearly a year and a half with no door dings. Got two in two days ... And they're both HUGE.
God I hate other drivers. |

Once I had just detailed/waxed/polished my red car... parked it to go see a friend, come out and the entire half was keyed.
The good thing was half the keying was through the layers of wax... but it still keyed the paint in parts. :-(

As long as the paint isn't broken check out PDR for sure. I just had a ding on our 330 fixed it was pretty bad with a crease. 20 minutes and $80 and I can't find the slightest trace of it.

A while back my 228 received two bad rock strikes within a couple of weeks of each other. Got hold of a GREAT paintless dent removal guy and you absolutely cannot see where they were.

There are very few things that are as inconsiderate as a door ding...
I watched a lady bounce her Tahoe's door off of a 335i at Starbucks the other day. she was holding a coffee in one hand and a phone in the other and couldn't be bothered to hold the door. It didn't phase her... |

I got my first door ding the second day I had my M235i. In the parking garage of the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. From a #@$@$@# Toyota Corolla. And I had parked against a wall, with about four free spaces next to me. Sigh.
Yup, I hate other humans too.

I always walk the extra mile, cause when I don't seems you can always expect door dings, people with shitty cars just don't give a shit almost every time!

The parking lot at my work is crowded and lots of full size trucks. My 135i had a few door dings from the work parking lot which is more than I had on all my cars in the last 20 years. When I sold the 135i and the M235i was on order I bought a used Nissan Sentra. I drive that car to work now days and no worries about door dings. It is unfortunate there are so many people that are inconsiderate of other people’s property.

What burns me up is when I park at the end of the parking lot and there isnt a single car within 20 spaces of me in any direction, only to come out of the store and find someone park directly next to me...

Oh the logic is...they see a nice car parked way out of the way and they get their jollies by parking next to you to piss you off. People have a mean streak in them for some reason! I bet you never have this happen with another NICE car parking beside you. Although it would make sense if you did, because the line of thinking would be, this guy has a nice ride, he will be very careful opening and closing his car doors, so my nice ride will be safe

So true. Same thing happens to me all the time. Purposely park all by myself in an open area of a parking lot only to come back and see some idiot parked right next to me. At moments like that, I have to almost laugh at the absurdity of the situation. My car was redelivered from ED about 2.5 months ago, and, like most of you guys, I'm obsessive-compulsive about keeping it free of door dings, chips, bumper scratches, curb rash, etc. So far, so good. It'll happen eventually, though. One way or another, the law of averages will catch up, and the bloom will be off the rose. |
