BMW Group U.S. Reports November 2015 Sales
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW Group U.S. Reports November 2015 Sales December 1, 2015
Woodcliff Lake, NJ – December 1, 2015… Sales of BMW brand vehicles increased 3.2 percent in November for a total of 32,003 compared to 31,019 vehicles sold in November, 2014. Year-to-date, BMW brand is up 4.4 percent from the same period last year with sales of 311,398 vehicles. “There were fewer selling days in November, yet the demand for new vehicles is solid resulting in the ninth record sales month for BMW this year,” said Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO, BMW of North America. “The all-new 7 Series did very well in its first full month of sales but there’s no question the trend is towards light trucks and the improving availability of our SAV’s gave a nice boost to our overall sales in November.” To see and hear more of Ludwig Willisch's business perspective, click here. Notable vehicle sales included the BMW X3 which increased 124.5 percent to 4,987, the BMW X6 increased 59.6 percent to 672 and the BMW 2 Series which increased 77.6 percent to 1,147 cars. BMW Group Sales In total, the BMW Group in the U.S. (BMW and MINI combined) reported November sales of 36,447 vehicles, an increase of 1.2 percent from the 36,028 vehicles sold in the same month a year ago. Year-to-date, BMW Group sales are up 4.9 percent from the same period last year with 364,903 vehicles sold. MINI Brand Sales For November, MINI USA reports 4,444 automobiles sold, a decrease of 11.3 percent from the 5,009 sold in the same month a year ago. Year-to-date, MINI USA sales are 53,505 vehicles, an 8.1 percent increase from the same period last year. BMW Pre-Owned Vehicles

It's actually painful to see how little the E89 Z4 sells. It's only been out for 5 years (?) but it feels a lot more than that. I look at those numbers and I feel like BMW should just put it out of its misery. It's a shame because it has everything it needs to be a good roadster and it definitely looks better than the SLK.

look at that... 3 series is losing ground and the 1/2 is gaining.. hmmmm i wonder why.
look at the x3 sales for november.. 125%! more than likely people are realizing they dont need to spend 70k on an x5 Nailed it. way over priced for what you get

The roadster market has declined sharply since the original Z3 debuted. If you look at sales even for segment leaders like the Miata, they are a fraction of their high marks from decades past. BMW has moved their offering up market each generation which naturally means a smaller audience, but this is likely because they were trying to find customers in a shrinking pool and wanted to separate themselves from non-luxury offerings. It would be nice to see BMW offer a true sports car similar to a Corvette, where the roadster is offered next to a coupe. Perhaps this is what they have planned for the next model. |

Scary to see the 3 and 4, BMW's bread and butter, performing so poorly from a sales perspective. Wondering if the C and A4/A5 refreshes are part of this?
Hopefully BMW creates some incentives to keep sales moving through the end of the year. |

The redesigned A4/A5 haven't been released in the U.S., my guess is that it won't happen until second quarter 2016.

WTF? I don't even know what this means when they are both up for the year and the 3 series is in its 5th year. One month sales are totally meaningless for any manufacturer. You want to talk poor sales look at Cadillac, CTS down 50% for the month but now down over 40% for the year and ATS down 15% YTD. The 3/4 are outstanding especially considering all the competition.

This is especially bad since the 3 series just receieved an LCI. I would expect more sales in the later half of 2015, not less. |

No need to play the doom/gloom game. We do this every month. No business is always up every month. You're going to have your good months and some down months. Next month BMW will announce record sales and and everyone won't even remember November sales.

Why don't they just offer 0% CPO deals for something more than just 12 months or 24 months? Seriously BMW, if you want more people to get into your cars... lower the hurdle to get into them. If BMW sold the cars at a higher price but offered kick butt financing deals of 4 years @ 0% or 5 years @ 0%, then these cars would be flying off the lots. Don't even mess around with stupid stuff like .9% financing... just go to 0% and make some good money for the sales guys and dealerships. Heavily push the extended warranties like the wheel/tire road hazard, 7 year/100k cpo wrap, etc...
For new cars... make it a stronger incentive for leasing (once again... 0% money factor). What will this do for them? 1) Creates a great way to get new cars off the lot (leasing) 2) Creates a huge future inventory for cpo sales 3) Sell the same car twice (profit twice) and you get to sell warranties twice (profit twice) Talk about a win/win! |

Interesting that they classify the models as having 10 Passenger Cars and 4 Light Truck models and the Light Trucks have outsold the Cars by 90k vehicles YTD.
I think part of this has to do with really cheap gas. Whether it really matters to people's budget or not, when gas goes up people care more about mpg.

ALL across the lineup the sedans sell better than the coupe..
3 > 4 5 > 6 7 > 8.. well... you see what happened here.. X3 > X4 X5 > X6 When the X2 comes out it will be X1 > X2 So why is there NOTHING with 4 doors outselling the 1/2 series.. |

In the above scenario the 4 doors are cheaper across the board.

And many would purchase a wagon over a sedan. But BMW USA doesn't believe that because they handicap their wagon offerings and then claim we don't buy them.
