Pulstar Spark plug on N54

Anyone tried the pulstar plugs. Just curious if anyone have used it on the N54. To be honest I didn't search so maybe this has been discussed. But here is the part number that is suspose to be the same as the ngk 5992. Pulstar part number GG1H10. It looks like you can get these at a number of places, Autozone, Advance, Amazon. They are as expensive as the NGK but claim better performance. Link to their site. https://pulstar.com/

I'd stick with what you know works. Plenty of happy guys here that run NGK.

I'll be the devils advocate here Solely because i've actual ran those Pulstar plugs in one of my other cars.

I was a tester when they first came out. and they 100% work as advertised. no gimmicks. I ran them in my car for a while. Not this is when they were first released, so they had a couple issues with the TOP of the plug (the end that would go into the socket) being very sensitive to off center pressure. Meaning if you were putting them in and leaned the socket and wrench off-center you could break the top. But they have improved the design since then, as this was at least 6 years ago.

But, the car they were in gained an average of 4whp/tq in the midrange. this was a NEW to NEW comparison next to NGK IX's. Car was NA tho during testing.

And IIRC, the are one or two step colder than OEM plugs.

I will say, the E9x's misfire system is a bit touchy, so im not sure if you will get misfire codes due to how they work/fire.

I believe they still offer a 100% money back guarantee as well. So its not like you're really losing anything to try them out. if you speak to them before hand.

I think a 4 HP difference can easily be attributed to the dyno. The exact same car, run back to back can vary more than 4 HP or ft/lb.

definitely can, no denying that. but 4-5 runs on each set of plugs showed the gains.

Im not telling people to buy them. im just telling people i personally tested them myself and saw gains. you're talking to someone who still runs copper plugs over all of the other iridium, platinum, titanium, and whatever else is out there. haha.

I'm actually going to look for a copper plug for the N54. i have researched it at all tho.

NGK 4786 I think is copper / nickel alloy. I've run them before with mild success - From what I've read, as long as your injectors are 11 and above and don't leak, you shouldn't have any misfire with these (my issue, since I have -05 injectors) FYI, these do not have resistors like the old 5992s have.

Thanks for the replies, I haven't made a decision to run them, the NGK's are running fine but it is good to have more options.

I had pulstar in my old g35 and did nothing bit cause me money. The spark plug actually cracked and got stuck in my engine when I tried yo take them out due to the car misfiring. Stay and stick the ngk
