With all the recent terrorist activity in the world Donald Tump's polls have been gaining steadily.

Just curious to see if people agree with him Hence the poll.

Don't yell at me and tell me i'm racist or a bigot. I just want to get a feel for the sentiment that people currently have.

I see Ms. Bleeding Heart didn't vote, since I'm the only No at the moment. But definitely No.

How does it prevent anything really - doesn't their religion say to lie to infidels (genuine question, I'm not sure, heard someone else say it) - so then the ones who really want to do some harm to the great white satan will just claim to be Jews, or Christians, or Hindus or whatever.

And then what - do we then ban all Christians? All Jews? Where does it end. No, I'd be afraid to see any barring of one religion / race / etc regardless of whether I was a part of that religion or race. Mainly because mine could be next.

But I do think Trump is just using social media in a stellar way. And that's why he's gotten as far as he has, he's very savvy that way. And at no cost to himself - everyone's happy to publish him bc of the outrageous things he says.

Yes but ISIS really really does hate us and wants to kill as many of us as possible in any means possible... I got to say if not based on religion then what about nationality?

Look at Europe and the attacks in Paris. Would have stopping the Syrians from coming helped? probably not but it would keep a lot more of the garbage out of Europe. These types of people don't integrate nor do they want to. They just wanna see the world burn unfortunately.

Now...what is there to understand? Some people hate you, they always have, they always will. So what is there to understand? At what point will you have reached the point that you "understand" it and then let Muslims back in?

My point is - he's saying nothing. IF you take a look at the incident in Cali, the man was born in the US. Sure, he went to the ME to get his bride and bring her to Cali, but he was a US-born citizen.

I looked at my passport, it doesn't have religion box anywhere on it.

Well...how would you identify them? I suspect most of them don't go around announcing their intentions ahead of time....

What amused me was Obama's address from the Oval office to reassure the Americans that things were under control.

So on one hand, Americans appear to believe Obama is responsible for letting these attacks happen because he has to make this address, but on the other hand, they are totally against any invasion of their privacy, so how would one catch these idiots before they do something.

First it can't be "racist" Islam is a religion not a race.

Second, your freedoms end where they trample on mine. When your religion tells you to lie to, cheat, steal from and kill those that don't believe what you believe, then your "religious freedom" is invalid because it attempts to infringe on the basic human rights of others including the most basic of rights: to live.


IMO, if the Founding Fathers knew that Islam would eventually attempt to infiltrate the U.S., they would have modified the 1st Amendment, something like:

People like to point out that Jefferson had a Qu'ran translated into English. They fail to look into the historical reason of why he did. Jefferson was running into a problem with Islamic Pirates attacking U.S. Merchant vessels; when he attempted to negotiate with the countries these pirates originated from (the Barbary states) he found that they would say one thing and then do another. So in order to understand their beliefs, he had the Qu'ran translated. Once he understood what he was dealing with, he sent in the Marines to take care of the problem ("to the shores of Tripoli"). I'm all for keeping potential terrorists out of the country, but this question says to literally close the borders to all muslims and there are all kinds of people who claim to be muslim. Some do want a fresh start and to assimilate to our culture, some want a fresh start but want to keep their culture, some want a fresh start while changing our culture and some want a fresh start and to destroy our way of life.

But to answer this very simple question about a very complex issue.... I don't see that effectively curbing domestic terrorism any more than taking guns from law abiding citizens would curb gun violence.

I would say they must have extensive background checks,interviewed by some intelligent method to see if the "terrorists/extremists" can be weeded out.....I know very vague right?
Truth is it very difficult to discover these types as they don't usually become known until it's too late....and this includes homegrown terrorist and psychopaths.
