Oil catch can on eBay..thoughts?
http://m.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Silv...919?nav=SEARCH
Or http://m.ebay.com/itm/RED-7-x-3-x-2-...140?nav=SEARCH I want to preface this by saying I don't intend on ordering this lol. However, 484 others did. My question is A) would this work? B) what's the benefit of purchasing a higher end unit (burger etc) if something like this functions the same? Just ordered my jb4 and looking to get my catch can asap. |

B)I buy higher end things because I want higher quality and longevity. Because it have the same function doesn't mean it it has the same build quality, finish, fitment, and perform the same. IMO, OCC is already a cheap item. Just grab a BMS one and call it a day. Those you linked will discolor and probably leak between 3-6 months.

$55,000 car, wants to buy $30 ebay catch can that probably won't work instead of a proven $180 catch can.

I've had a few friends snicker at me for spending the money I do on certain auto parts because they are so expensive, but at the same token, there are some things that even after I purchase them I have an issue justifying the price lol.. To some people buying a $180 soda can with a baffle inside isn't justifiable as a "good deal" but to somebody else it's a verifiable upgrade and the financial aspect is of no concern..

I'd much rather pay $150 extra to have something that I know works versus something that could cause headaches down the road. Mind you, I'm also the type of person who can't stand when people put all seasons on their sporty cars along with nankang, general, etc. crappy summer tire brands. |

O.K. Not in this case, my fault. B But still the same N54... It's his choice, I only say it will work, I know it, because I saw it on many cars (N54 too). If he wants proff. solution there is Norgren, if he wants nice solution - BMS and if he like cheap solution, which works, there is ebay. And I have VTA, because my engine loves fresh cold air.

i used the 1st OCC on a past car. It works, but you need to go buy proper hoses and filters and connectors. Then you can make your own baffle by using a thin piece of aluminum and cutting to fit and drilling holes in it. Ended up costing me < $50 for everything.
And ditch the sight glass thing and plug the holes. That tends to leak. Biggest thing to do is to take it completely apart and use some thread sealer on everything, otherwise it will leak. Its not plug and play like the bms OCC, but it can work if you spend the time to do it right. |

Cheap? ..not so much. Coming from a guy who spent $25,000 in an LS2 corvette motor. Used to be a moderator so I'm used to this sort of thing. Nothing constructive here. Please refrain from the BS |

Those Ebay ones are too small, not enough throughput (among other flaws).
The PVC system needs to breahte properly. There was a discussion years ago about this which is why BMS OCC came about and the others previous to BMS fell off the map. |

I have experience making my own setups for other cars I own and I have found that this ADD Catch Can works well. The fittings kind of suck but I typically use Fragola Fittings and push lock hose anyway.
I will be making a bracket to implement it on my 335i and will post pics when I get it all plumbed up. You can buy it on Ebay here: or just serach for ADD W1, they come in different colors. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ADD-W1-Black...pTfkhB&vxp=mtr

Yeah and honestly I don't skimp on quality on parts. I just happened to come across this thing and could not believe the quality for the price. Then when I got it in hand I was even more impressed. The machining on the piece is quality work and it is a true catch can.
