There is a few shops in Calgary that do that kind of stuff. If you can't get a good price in Calgary, I can do it for you in Edmonton on a weekend.

I don't have a shop. I just had a lot of experience working on cars, and my buddy who helps me with these jobs is a red seal heavy duty mechanic. I'm a red seal machinist/millwright. We did downpipes on my 335xi. I can't state a price here, cause the mods are nazis. But, pm me with an offer. We also do walnut blasting BTW.

Anyone have insight to this being a viable DIY job? (non x-drive) I've done water pump/thermostat and have a decent set of tools, but am unsure if this might be a little bit more than I can chew.

we did it without a hoist on wheel blocks on an x drive.
