They've got rid of that crappy looking screen from the smaller models and followed the route of the S Class. It's a winner in my eyes haha.
Jokes aside, I don't think it looks bad. Not a huge fan of the black trim on the centre console but I do quite like the digital dash. The way it's all pretty much one big screen. Still a bit more of an older gentleman's car compared to a 5 Series in my opinion but not bad. Interested in seeing one in person. |

They've melted another Merc I remember seeing early renders thinking if it looked like that it will be nice, what a shame it doesn't.
Its better than the C, just. What are their designers thinking? Still the interior looks good, at least they sort of tried to make the screen not look like a stuck on iPad. |

Someone has been using that 'melty' photo App again.
Mercedes are going curvier. BMW are going for a more angular look. Audi are going for MASSIVE grills still and the same car look.

Agree the CLA is truly melting at the edges.

They're doing the same as Audi and making every model they make look exactly the same but just a different size!!
But hey, why design a new car when you can just take an existing one and use the 'scale' button!! |

I think it looks fine, and best looking E-class I can recall. Yes, looks like a bigger C-class, but have found that as I see more of them on the road I've grown to like them more, especially the front.
Agree the boot is not the best aspect but it's much better than the truly hideous CLA, which is just an all round weird looking car... like so bizarre cut and shut. Actually it looks like one of those cars pretending to be something it isn't, like a Ferrari F355 which is actually a Toyota MR2, or those Audi TT's made to look like the R8, except this is a Merc hatch back botched up to look like a CLS.

Whilst I'm all for consistent design language throughout the model lineup, Mercedes are taking it to a whole new level. When you see their lineup aide by side, there is no soul or character.
I very much liked the previous C shape (strongly contemplated picking up a second hand C63...before I saw sense and the bmw light) and the previous E shape was interesting and had some nice lines. With the exception of maybe the A class, all the new MB cars, to me, look horrible, soft and ill-conceived. Absolutely not a fan. Which is a shame as they make a best in class interior for the 3er class and are back to back F1 world champions (so you'd hope they can put together an on point engine lineup). |

Just been watching a demo of the new E Class screen.
Looks good, 2 displays and touch comtrollers on the steering wheel. Ability to configure both the 'driving screen' and infotainment screen with what you want. |
