Consumer Reports is still in love with M235i
All you cool folks who don't read Consumer Reports might be happy to know that they still love the M235i. A year or so ago, they rated it at 98, exceeded in history only by the Tesla Model S at 99, but they later officially dropped their recommendation of the Tesla because of software glitches. That left the M235i alone at the top of the all-time heap.
Last Fall, they tagged the M235i as the most reliable BMW, adding to its glory. In the March 2016 issue, they tested the Audi TT and concluded that "For the same money, you can get a BMW M235i--which outpoints the TT in almost every dynamic respect." Flip a couple of pages and you see their ratings of all "sporty cars." The 911 Carrera S rates three points below the M235i but at twice the price, followed by the Corvette at 92. The Audi slips in at 84, followed by a slew of the usual suspects. M235i rules! |

I've mentioned this before on here...my father is a loyal Mercedes guy and when I told him my plans on purchasing an M235, he was incredulous to say the least...("BMW's have horrendous liability, why do you want such a small car, who needs all that power, etc). He's also a religious Consumer Reports subscriber and for whatever it's worth, it wasn't until he read that CR review, that he came around. Now that he's had a chance to see it in person and drive it for himself, HE's the one considering switching from MB to BMW for his next vehicle

Consumer Reports also lists it as "Most Fun" in the "Sports/Sporty Cars" category (CR video below).
Near the end of the video it also says very good things about the 228i as well - and having had both the 228i and now the M235i, I concur... http://brightcove.vo.llnwd.net/e1/ud...=3625683691001

I'm thrilled that my car AND my vacuum cleaner get their nod of approval.
