E85 Mix Calculator App
Hey guys has anyone got the E85 Mix Calculator app? I'm trying to work out the values to enter into each of the input cells
Tank Size (guessing it's 63L) Desired E% (guessing it's 30 for E30) Amount of fuel in tank (guessing 1/2 tank on fuel gauge means about 31? But I think our fuel gauge is scaled so 3/4 full is actually half empty?) E% of pump E85 (No idea what to put in here) E% in tank (ummm nope no idea) E% in pump gas (if using 98 what E% is that?) Hopefully someone is using this app and can shed some light on the proper values to enter Thanks |

Hey Sock
Tank Size = 63L Desired e% = for e30 enter 30 e % in pump e85 = enter 85 (for united all year round), Caltex varies between e70 (winter) and e85 (summer) e% in pump gas = in Aus our pump 98 does not contain any ethanol so enter 0 e% in tank = enter what e% you think you have in the tank. For example if you were running 100% pump 98 you would enter 0 here. Likewise someone running 100% e85 would enter e85 here. Not sure about your question on how to read the guage. I just always presumed 1/2 tank meant 31.5L, but maybe someone else can chime in. Hope that helps, this is to the best of my knowledge |

Rough rule of thumb I use is that each increment of fuel = 3.15 L ie 63L/20 (20 units) = 3.15L.
So 3.15 * whatever mark the needle is at = fuel in tank. Always been pretty close, for me anyways. That hidden menu looks handy though. |

Count the lines. Divide 63 by that number. Then test it out by trying and seeing how far out your calcs are when filling up. I could always get it within 2L accuracy. |
