Bay Area - Help with Smog - NEED 2008 335i

Hey guys,

I have a 2008 335i (N54). I took it to get smogged, but the cat. is not reading. Everything else passes.

I have jb4 and AR catless dp's. I need your help

YOUR CAR:
  • Your car must be stock (jb4 and/or intakes ok)
  • Shop will only take 10-15min.
  • MUST BE 2008

If anyone in the Bay Area can help a fellow e90post member, and use their car as a replacement for the test.

Shop is located in Burlingame.

I'll REIMBURSE YOU for time and gas too.

Thanks - PM me for details.

It'll cost me a lot of money to uninstall to stock, then reinstall to aftermarket. The amount is close to what I paid for my exhaust system I just purchased...

I was reading about the dp fix, but in my research I found that it's unnecessary to have the dp fix if you have the jb4.

I have until April to get the test done and paid at the DMV.

Hopefully someone comes to my rescue

The JB4 will automatically clear the warning light that comes up in your dash, but that is all it does.

The point of the DP fix is to make it so that you pass readiness. With JB4 you won't have any lights come up on your dash but it does nothing as far as tricking the computer.

Just take it off and swap back to stock. It's definitely not money worth spending if all you have are DCI's.

That's less than a 15min. swap...

Gotta love sketchy shops willing to commit fraud. haha. The best way to LEGIT pass smog is DP fix + re-install OEM intake.

Pretty sure using a different car won't work because when you connect it, it'll read car specific info.
