LBB advice

Hey guys

I think like a lot of us I have my heart set on LBB. However, the way things have panned out my car will be coming in Alpine White.

Has anyone had experience with wrapping - specifically colour matching a factory colour and then wrapping with it?

Cheers

Why go with LBB? If you are going to spend all of that money get something original, something less turquoise .

Or if they can't match LBB maybe see if they can do something like Laguna Seca Blue. Might be easier since it's non metallic.

There is no rational reason but every time I see LBB on an M2 it reminds me of seeing my friend's dad's new E36 M3 in Estoril blue when I was a kid.

Maybe I'll hate it when I see it in the flesh and be happy with white

Oh it's completely different from estoril, it can look that way sometimes with iPhone photos but in bright sun no way.

I've seen an LBB x6M and an Estoril blue 4 series nearly side by side at the BMW ultimate drive event.

I think estoril blue is an awesome color but I can't imagine fans of estoril thinking LBB is the schiznit..

Take a good long look at Atlantis blue and Laguna seca blue. Fans of either would say that LBB is close.

Probably cause you're hoping it is close to EB. There is a pic floating around with someone's EBII next to a LBB M2 I think.

I have seen them both in the same parking lot and, to me, EBII is so much better than LBB. If the original EB is one of your favs, as it is one of mine, I think you'll be disappointed in LBB as an equal substitute.

For some reason Estoril Blue is a boring blue to me. LBB all the way over Estoril IMO.

Don't know why, but next to EB, LBB looks very feminine to me. Not necessarily bad, I suppose...

Saw LBB on a X4 M40i at the dealers. Such a subjective sort of thing but neither my wife or I liked it even in the slightest. AW does show the lines of the car nicely. If you are set on a blue there is the Graphite Blue Metallic that Porsche is sporting.

Hmmm the side by side is interesting...it is a good bit lighter than I'd imagined. I think I'll have to see it in the flesh to make a decision.

That above LBB pic isn't a good representation of the color.

EB is a great color, but I do like LBB due to it's Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde personality. It's not for everyone that's for sure.

Atlantis Blue is the closest to LBB it seems. On the F80/82 forums there is an Atlantis Blue M4 and M3 in all sorts of sunlight, etc.

Holy crap, look at the change on Atlantis Blue. I really like Atlantis and I'm not a huge Teal or Green fan on cars, however, I've seen LBB in person and I did like it. I saw it on an X6M and liked it, but I was still unsure and didn't "love" it. But then again, I don't love Black, Grey, or white either. From all accounts, I've heard that this color suits the M2 very well from many of our forum members who have seen it in person. It doesn't really matter anyway as I can't change options now as my car started production on 2/11 was supposed to be produced by 2/20 (MyBMW site is slow). In the long run, I think LBB will be worth it as I like more vibrant colors rather than muted Black, Grey, and White that you see on most of the cars traveling on the road around you.

Side Note: We need to see LBB next to an Atlantis Blue F80/F82. I'd like to see how close these colors really are.

It does have that green in it. I've seen it in person twice on different days and locations. The EB comparison pic is a little off but I feel but it is close. I saw it on an overcast day the first time and I have a hard time picturing it ever being as blue as it is in most of the videos.

I would highly recommend people see this color in person before they buy it. The closest thing I could compare it to might be a metallic LSB. Perhaps a bit lighter.

I saw Atlantis Blue only once and it was at twilight so I don't know if I can compare it. I think Atlantis was a lighter color and had a bit less green in it but I would have to see them side-by-side.

Picture #3 is more representative of what the color actually looks like. Pic #2 is just the camera, the car never looks like that. I know this is Atlantis, but its similar to LBB.

Gotcha. I do hope LBB looks similar to that 3rd pic as it looks great here. On another note, I just realized this M4 has the Superman Combo with the blue exterior and red interior.

Not on an M2 yet.

I'm in my 40s, happily married with children and AFAIK got no midlife crisis.

We all go through stages in life. Maybe I'd consider LBB if I were still in my 20s or early 30s and unmarried. LBB is a more 'challenging' color, more youthful/juvenile.

Also my wife dislikes LBB. "That ain't a nice blue. Please no. Too loud.". She approved my choice for "stealthy" MG (I ordered the car and told her afterwards).

It's OK for me that Madonna still hops around on stage in mini skirt and tight dresses, as long as she's happy with it. However, whether it's good taste, is a different discussion for each of us.

Conclusion: no LBB for me - I prefer the "dull" MG. Ha, it even rhymes.
