Non availability in France and Switzerland
Since apparently no convertible is going to be made I went to the Swiss dealer in Geneva, Switzerland and enquired about availability of the coupe. They told me that all 150 units available in Switzerland had been sold already. I was quoted "sometime in 2017" if I order now :-(
I asked in France, just across the border, and the answer was very vague as well - sometime in 2017. I'm asking myself whether I'll buy an M235i convertible now... or wait. But I know that, next year, while I'm driving my soft M235i convertible and I see an M2 I'm going to be jealous. Perhaps the best alternative is an M2 with sun roof... Hum.

Sorry to hear that.
Same issue in Sweden. I believe there are roughly 100 cars allocated for 2016 and all were already sold out in Dec/January I think. There are already people here trying to sell their cars prior to taking delivery. Also saw someone selling his contract for €5K |

I was at my dealer last week talking to salespeople I already know for 25 years(my family and I are >25 years customers at that particular dealership)
We were having lunch. Talking about drifting, trackdays(those guys are preparing a 130i with lsd driftsetup) etc etc. I told that guy I'm going to miss my 1M (and I know that guy wants my car to have personally, he adores my 1M, he bought it from BMW München personally back in '12 with 16k km on it, after that I got it). He stands up and says, I'm going to give you ca$h if you cancel your M2 order right now. I say: what? He: You know I love your 1M, we know eachother, and offcourse I want to trade it in, but can't you just drive one year longer with it we make another great deal and you get a '17 M2? I have so many others on my waiting list... I said: Thanks for the offer but no mate. Cheers Robin |

Corinne : If you really want to buy one, I can give you the link of a swiss forum where a BMW seller said that he can have an M2 for june. ONLY ONE because the guy who ordered the car bought an M3 instead of it (like a lot of people ). You can choose which option/colour you want because the car is not in production yet.
The seller posted the message last week, maybe somebody has already reserved the car I don't know... |

A Belgian forum fellow reported that 130 MY2016 M2s were allocated to Belgium and it seems that all were spoken for very quickly.

We ordered the same week that the M2 was announced. Long story short, we got a registered letter from the dealership saying they wouldn't be able to deliver any time in 2016. We had to choose between waiting until 2017 or canceling the order and looking for something else. In the end, the dealership offered to let us buy their showroom car, which they'd been planning on hanging on to. We said yes, but we won't be able to take it home for a month or so after launch and we had to agree to take it for full price (ended up only being a small difference in monthly payments). Not a great deal, but it means we get an M2 this year
