Smart Car

Anyone interested in a 2008 Smart Car?
I live in Germany 11 months out of the year playing soccer, and purchased a smart car, as my city car (about 3 months ago)....NOT my Autobahn car!
The color is Black/Silver and is the Passion Line. I called some dealerships in the US, and its about a 7-10 month wait for one of these.
I will not need my Smart Car starting June, since i am making a move to a bigger club. If no one is interested, i will just sell it here....but i thought there might be some interest from people in the states.
When i bought the car, the salesman told me there would have to be minor changes to the car to make it pass emissions....but you will still be in the 60's for mpg!
The car currently has 2,000km - but it will be a little more by the time June comes around. Not quite sure of an amount that i would like for it.....so make me an offer, and we will go from there.
email me if you have any further questions.

Even though the NHTSA website isn't very up-to-date, the 2008s probably are not on the list of eligible import vehicles yet. One would have to bring the car in through a registered importer, store it in a bonded warehouse, have them run it through the gamut of tests, pay for the certification, etc. It'd be cost-prohibitive, unless you couldn't wait for one and needed it now. But who knows how long it takes for the NHTSA to sign off on it... might be longer than the waiting list.

well i can assure you that i am a real person, and am not trying to scam. I am just trying to gauge interest, to see if its worth importing back in, or just sell it here. I thought it would be a cool way for someone to get a smart car, which are in high demand in the US right now. I dont need to sell the car, i just dont really want to have it after 3 more months.

You can buy them in the USA right now.. My local benz dealer has a smart section like BMW has a mini section.. They have about 10 of them for sale.

well....looks like i wont sell mine in Arizona! i called a dealership in Portland, OR where i grew up, and they told me the wait was almost a year! And i have seen them on Craigslist (2005 models) for 20k! which is RIDICULOUS. I am really not trying to make any money off the sale (probably sounds hard to believe), but i was just trying to give someone an opportunity to get a Smart.
