Whistling sound after several repairs

So I just did several jobs to my 2008 335i and now have a whistling sound at all RPM's and a 2D2E code(car was fine before). Too tired to T/S tonight but figured I'd list what I did and see if the collective wisdom has any advice on where to look first:

1. Replaced and coded all injectors. (no codes, car starts and runs fine)

2. Replaced valve cover and gasket ((kit, with all new bolts). Transferred over the RB PCV that was in my old VC. (read some threads where a stuck PCV could cause whistling?)

3. Replaced the LP fuel sensor and line. No leaks, but this required me to:

4. Remove and replace intake manifold (gaskets were good condition...replaced them less than 20K ago) which caused me to:

5. Remove throttle body (but did not disconnect line at the back...just pushed it down and out of the way. Gasket was fine. This means I:

6. disconnecting intake pipe (aftermarket metal one)

7. I also replaced my boost solenoids (been wanting to do for a while)

So, at idle, I get a teakettle type sound that "winds up" shortly after start and stays "on" for a couple of seconds after I shut the car off. I figure it has to be:

1. stuck PCV
2. Leaking throttle body gasket
3. leaking intake manifold gasket
4. vacuum leak
5.??

Any advice appreciated to narrow this down. I am not even sure the sound and the code are related...Thx!

Try to slowly open ur oil cap when engine is running. See if the sound change. Crankcase should have slight vacuum at idle

Thx! I tried this and it had HUGE vaccuum(it also didn't make the sound if the oil cap was open)...so I pulled the PCV (RB PCV). Turns out the rubber part of the RB PCV had stayed in the old Valve Cover and I didn't notice it when I swapped the part over to the new VC (didn't realize it til I googled a pic of a new one and realized there was no rubber piece on the part I moved). I just reassembled and am waiting 30 minutes for the minor fuel spillage from the fuel line I disconnected to replace the PCV to dry. I hope this fixes the 2D2E code as well! Wish me luck...if this doesn't work I will reinstall the factory PCV that came with the VC and try again. I feel so close to a win here...but also so far...

Yea that's that rubber piece. I had the same issue on mine. Thought it's a bad rb valve, turns out I forgot to transfer over the rubber from the old valve cover to the new one

Nice OP, glad you worked it out.
Do you have a video or sound recording of the noise? Would be helpful for others to recognize if they are experiencing something similar.

I do on my phone. I'll see if I can upload it and link it tomorrow.

where is this PCV located on the valve cover? i changed my valve cover gasket a few weeks ago and i have a loud whistling and strong enough vacuum at idle where it's difficult to remove the oil filler cap...

Its at the back left of the engine if looking at it from the front. You'll see a black plastic cap with a hex on the end (15mm if my memory serves me correct) where cylinder 6 fuel line meets the cylinder 6 injector.

Look under the fuel line for the last cyclinder. There is a plastic hex screw. Slowely remove it. If you are to aggressive it will crack and u will be fucked.

After I remove it, then what?

Check and see if the rubber seal is in there or on the pcv itself

so it seems like it was the vanos solenoids. i cleaned them, and now it seems to run normally.
