07 335i n54 auto won't start FFS !!!
Hey guys , so this morning went to go to work and car wouldn't start . All lights dash lights come on and can hear priming of some sort . Checked battery voltage via Cobb ap and was 11.3 v off. Now I have searched that it can be anything from starter Motor to battery to earth wire . Now I have checked the earth wire and seems fine . The battery is charging now . But is there a way to determine the starter motor for certain? I have notice the last couple morning it would krank slow then fire up but after it would start normally , but mainly morning would krank slow once or twice then fire up . No codes or anything . Does this sound more like stater or just needs new battery as I haw never replaced battery ? I have just replaced gaskets etc and not keen on blowing money on a battery of its the starter or vice versus so any input would be great

I kid not, go get a broom stick and knock the starter with it a few times. If it starts right up afterwards, you'll know it's time for a new starter. And just keep the broomstick in your trunk until you get the starter replaced.

Yes. Yes it is. The problem is that there is no clearance to access the star headed bolts that back out into the firewall. I'd probably pay someone to do it for me if I had to do it again on this car. My back was sore for a week afterwards.
