Since you are all my closest internet friends, I thought I'd ask for feedback on this topic...

Would you powder coat a new set of rims if the color was not to your liking

As many of you know - the car color is Space Gray.

Was thinking a Gunmetal Metallic for a little pop..Thoughts?

No, I don't think gunmetal goes with space grey. Theres not enough contrast. I've considered doing the same.

Powder coating will compromise the integrity of a wheel. I would paint though.

I'd consider full black with Space Gray. I'm not normally a fan of full black wheels but space gray is one of the few colors that look good with them.

Well...they are matte black now, so that would be easy.

I plan to test fit a rim and see how it really looks on the car.

If that's the case, i would leave as is.

Maybe someone could photoshop both looks for you. That may help.

Wheels TBD - looking for a deep concave and wider rim to fill out the fender profile.

Black looks good with space gray. Gunmetal wont have enough contrast.

There is some debate about this. I don't remember all the details but it might be how they're done too. Some research might be required.

I've done it before and I was super happy. I like the stock wheels but hated the color. The last one I did was kind of a two tone - at some angles it was a very dark gray but at other angels it had almost a hint of bronze to it. It cost a little extra for that affect but I thought it went well with the carbon black effect the car paint had and the cinnamon interior. It was hard to capture in pictures because I suck but see below.

The first pick was before. They looked more like a dull gray in person. Oddly enough he picture made the stock wheels look a little better than in person. When does that happen? ha ha

Finally, I love gun mettle on almost all color cars so you have my thumbs up. If you do it, please take a lot of before and after pics for us. Good luck!
