My Car

Hey guys...I just wanted to let everyone know about my experience. It really started about two years ago when I was trying to decide what car to eventually get. I read so many different reviews about so many different cars that my mind nearly exploded. I narrowed it down to either a 335i or Infiniti g35. (Keep in mind that during these two years I was driving a 2003 Kia Optima. It got me to where I wanted to go but that was about it.)

Now most of you would say that I needed to test drive them both at this point, but instead I just kept reading as much info about these two cars as I could. Eventually researching cars became an obsession and I started contemplating more expensive cars including the upcoming M3 and the C63 AMG. The lotus elise reared its head as well and I continued to live on the internet reasearching cars. I remember being like a kid waiting for Christmas as I waited for the unvieling of the C63 or the first actual review comparing the M3 and the C63. I finally started to fall back into reality realizing I had 4 kids and a wife to support, and even though I could afford it, an M3 or a C63 was just an impractical bit of testosterone induced euphoria.

Once my feet reached the ground I decided to go ahead and order a 335i sedan. (Keep in mind still no test drive). In reality my decision was made after reviewing the aftermarket potential for the twin turbos. I have to thank Shiv for this because at the time he seemed to be at the top of the aftermarket engine tuning heap. Well I started emailing certain dealerships and a guy named Justin from BMW of Macon came into the picture. After a short time period I found myself down at the dealership on Dec 15, 2007. The color was the most difficult choice, but I eventually decided on an Alpine White e90 with black interior and alum trim. Then the wait......and the wait......and the wait (I didn't realize that the German plant practically closes for 3 weeks during Christmas Holidays). Eventually it was put into production in January. During the wait I bought some splitters (thanks Jlevi), blacklines, carbon fiber emblems, as well as some lighting upgrades. Finally I went to pick it up on Feb 23, 2008. (Yes that is right 2 months 8 day wait).

I can not begin to tell you how I felt driving my 335i for the first time (keep in mind this is the first time behind the wheel of any BMW ever). It drove like a dream. The sport seats fit my lean muscular body (slight embellishment) like a glove. Absolutely no sliding. It rounded curves like it was stuck to the road and made me feel like I was actually a part of the car.....AWESOME.

Now it has been about two weeks and no problems whatsoever....I made the right decision. For me it is the king of cars.......Check out the pictures of my new Baby.....

The plant closes for Christmas? Really? I was told by my dealer when I ordered in November that they stopped production due to too many 2007 models outstanding still and wanted to hold back 2008 models until 2007 were cleared out.

Still a nice car! Mine's not even broken in yet.

I was told that they have a very long break during that time of year....but then again you could be right....at any rate it took my car a little longer because of the time of year....................

I will probably wait till I have about 1500 miles on it and then go for the dinan flash......(I already have the xenon fogs, predator ice, and xenon light kit on order....should be here in about a week)

My favorite mod so far is the black/white emblem change......but its all coming together nicely.....
