Light Warning on Dash
not having any luck with some help I need here....
the last week I have been experiencing some sort of malfuntion with a light bulb or some lighting sensor I believe. for a brief second or two a symbol is displayed on my dash which the manual says it's related to a warning for the lights. the symbol looks like a round light with an exclamation mark in the middle. I figured I had a bulb down, so I checked them all and they are fine??? I checked front, rear, turn signals, brake light, etc. has anyone else gotten this warning and if so, what did you do to correct? in case all my lights are operating fine, what else can I check? I just don't want to take the car in for service which means I need to remove mods and go back to stock all for a simple "warning" light on my dash |

I hear ya, but the issue is I don't want to go to the shop because that means I need to remove my tune (just in case). I was wondering if there are any others who had same experience. if so, what was the solution or is there additional troubleshooting I can do before I resort to takin her in?
just want to exhaust all options before removing anything on the car just for a simple bulb check at shop..... |

So you got a light on the dash, warning you about lights(but not bulb lights). Odd.

yeah, I don't have iDrive so I don't know which light or bulb, I read the OM and it only says that its a warning sign for a bad buld light? the symbol is the bulb with ! in the middle. this is the only thing that I get in the dash for a few seconds then goes away.

I have the same light on LOL
I know someone else had the same light, took it into the dealership they found that it was the abs brake light, aka rear fogs that are never in use anyway, I could care less about the warning cause when I start the car it there for one sec till I press dtc,,, |

You can if you have the rear foglight mod.

I have the same warning and checked all my bulbs, but I couldn't find one out. I just haven't got around to taking it in since my nearest dealer is 50 miles.

Ugh... I've had the same light for the past couple weeks. The Idrive says "rear brake light malfunction", but when I check it seems fine. It went away for a couple days and then it came back on.
I searched this forum and this is nothing new apparently. I called the dealership and they said it would take about 4-5 hours to check the sensors, etc, blah, blah, blah. AND the dealership I spoke with did not give loaner cars, so that means I have to be without a car for 4-5 hours or wait around at the service center for my car. So far my experience with the dealerships around here have not been satisfactory. I expect better customer service, especially for the price we pay for these cars. I've just come to ignore the stupid chime when I start my car because I haven't had the time to spend a day at a dealership waiting for a brand new car that shouldn't have these problems in the first place. |

Just take your key to them, they can read everything right off your key and know what is wrong.
I had a bulb go out, one of the LED lights on the brakes, for when you brake hard and I couldnt figure out which. |

I had the same warning last week for what iDrive told me was a "right brake lamp malfunction"
I took it to the dealer and they merely replaced the bulb. I just surprised because the car is only four months old. Anyway, in and out in 10 minutes. |
