Hicup at 1800-2000 RPM
2007 335I Sedan. Over the last year after having HPFP replaced and car reprogrammed, I have noticed a hiccup/miss/stutter that always occurs form 1800-2000 RPM under light throttle in 3rd/4th gear (Manual transmission). I have replaced the coils, plugs, VANOS solenoids and walnut blasted. I am throwing no codes. This is not a huge issue to me, but more an annoyance. Any ideas on where to go from here?

Had same issue took me 2 years.
I did a smoke test and had a leak on my inlet manifold nipple. Once I fixed leak it was still the same issue until I recoded Injectors. Now its like a new car. My hesitation was between at 1800 more noticeable in lower gears. Log to see what's up. |

I´ve had that forever. Always and only when the car cold on 2nd gear...and when I accelerate softly. Once I get the heat up or accelerate a little bit more powerful the car "stumbles" at about 1800 rpms..

I've had this issue for a couple years. Hesitation at part throttle (like 30-40%), more noticeable in the lower gears 1-3 at 2-3k Rpms. I've tried intake valve carbon blast, all new vacuum lines, new boost solenoids, new vrsf cp, larger diameter vacuum lines on the dv/manifold side, cleaned my forge bovs twice, new plugs, new Eldor cp's, even put the damned stock Dvs back on to rule that out. I've given up and just deal with it, but it pisses me off that it wont accelerate smoothly at part throttle. Happens about 50% of the time, inconsistent. Running Cobb stage 1+ drive map. Wot seems to work well with no timing corrections.
Could it be tuning related? Is it possible take a log of part throttle issues like this to identify issues and smooth them out via custom tuning? And can the pro tuners that advertise on this site interpret and sort such issues out?

Just change maps and you will know if it's tuning or hardware.
They can fade it a bit but its still there. I had buraq figure out my issue. My stft were massive and always trying to richen afrs. Still reccomend a smoke test. I had rbs running 500+hp, boost on target running sweet. Did smoke test and found a massive leak. |
