Replacing stock muffler tips (welded on?)

Hey everyone,

I got under my car (2007 335i) and had a look and I'm thinking that the stock muffler tips are welded to the mufflers. Is this a correct assumption?

If so, has anyone removed and replaced with aftermarket tips and if so, how did you remove them and what tips did you go with?

Just cut the old tips off and weld new ones one. That simple and any muffler shop should be able to take care of you. Cyba or Disma tips are probably the most popular. Here are 3.8 cyba tips welded on a performance exhaust.
