Electronic system Malfunction
I drive 2010 BMW 335i Sedan.
I was driving casually about a week ago while it was raining and a TPMS malfunction came on the Idrive which caused it to go inactive. Then about 2-3 minutes after an Electric System Malfunction came on and the entire dash started to light up like a christmas tree and flash on and off. while the system was going crazy my music would shut off and if i had on my turning signals those would malfunction as well. Before I take it in I want to make sure it isn't something as simple as changing my TPMS receivers. I haven't noticed any water leaking anywhere. I occasionally get a decreased battery sign in which I change yesterday. Car continued to go crazy for about 5 mins of driving. Then stopped for the day yesterday. Today it has come back even worse and is saying my key fob battery is low as well. I have too and i interchanged them same message for both. Need Help!! I will try and Post a video in a few. |

Sorry for the post from Captain Obvious, but have you had the battery cable recall done?

If your battery is at 12.6 VDC or better you might be getting a loose cable from the fuse box to the panel or from the battery to the fuse box. That has happened. Does sound like a lot of your trouble came from the battery...

I haven't acquired my multimeter yet but buying one today to check. I do not believe that is all seeing how i have never been in the fuse box since I bought the car. So i am curious to know what is causing the issue. I used INPA to delete the codes so we will see if anything new comes up. S/N: Has anyone ever had any issues with the #74 fuse being loose or anything. Or could it be the plugs behind the fuse box? Curious because I left the car running for about 10 mins after and nothing popped up this time. And my baby is due this month and the last thing i need is this car taking a shit on me |

When you changed the battery...
Did you REGISTER it? Many people don't, and well, that is a mistake. Buy a coder, or just cough up the $100-150 bucks the dealer changes for it. Yes it is ridiculous for 5 mins of computer settings and whatnot, but you must. Long story short, if you do not "register" your new battery to your car, you WILL have problems in the future. I don't understand why some on this forum refuse to believe that and say you don't need to do this... you absolutely, 100% have to do this on these BMWs or suffer the consequences. Just replacing the battery and going on with your day (like practically every other car ever made in history) cannot be done in these cars. (Perhaps audi, MB, etc. are the same, but I have no idea.)

N55 e90 electronic malfunction
I was driving the other day and the car came up with electronic malfunction, the error quickly went away and the car drove fine. The next day I started the car and there was the electronic malfunction error again. (I had also recently driven in some pretty deep rain and my car is pretty low)Most of the dash lights were on and the whole dash including the gauges would turn on and off.
I added screen shots of the error codes. I've read other forums where people had similar problems but I couldn't find any that had the same error codes as me. It would be great to get some more opinions on what the problem may be, any info would be a great help! |

What kind of scanner so you have.
Always do a basic check what is the battery voltage with the Engine off? What is the alternator voltage with the motor running? Also always state the year of the car and which motor it has? |

The cars battery voltage was 12.22 when the car was off and 14.9 when running
I couldn't use the cars system to read the voltage but I check the alternator using the diodes setting on a multimeter and it would read up to 500 sometimes but quickly come down to around 0 |

That's marginal battery voltage.
I would try putting a long slow charge on the battery . The alternator voltage is a little high. Probably trying to charge. |

Electronic malfunction caused by subwoofer
I have a 2011 335i. I recently had 2 12" subs installed in the trunk. About a month after install the car came up with an electronic malfunction error which affected almost all electronics on the car. Interior/dash lights, gauges, headlights, door locks, everything would gain and lose power or just not work at all. I had it checked out by my usual shops and they didn't know where to start so I took it to the bmw dealership and found 3 pages worth of faults. The dealership couldn't work on the car since it wasn't in its stock form. I had disconnected the ground wire for the subs prior to taking it to the dealership and after the dealership cleared the codes the car was fine. I've driven it for about a month with the sub disconnected and haven't had any problems. Has anyone had or heard of a situation like this? I've read online that a capacitor could help but I'm not sure. Any info would be great!
