BST airbag fault code (93B2): am i missing something?
A couple of weeks ago my airbag and pass restraint lights came on (at first i thought it was because i put a heavy gym bag on the pass seat, but removing it didn't help). It's an 98 335i E92 (Dinan 3, but that shouldn't matter, right?).
I ran a diagnostic and it's the 93B2 fault code. I look around the interwebs and it turns out, the BST can be emulated with a 3.3 ohm resistor. Easy enough: i disconnect the plug on the side of the BST on the positive side (the one with a blue and a brown wire going to it), cut the plug off replacing it with the 3.3 ohm resistor. go to reset the code (using Carly for BMW), and no result. i recheck all the connections again: fault code persists. Did i use the wrong resistor (i heard some talk about a 2 ohm)? Did i splice it into the wrong wires? Have i angered the BMW gods in some other way?
