Lessons learned:
1) BMW's are the worst handling cars in the world
2) Never race in a car with graphics on the side
3) Don't EVER take a job as a flag marshal at the Ring. That's hard work.

I've read that the surface has been polished very smooth due to all the traffic so there's no way in hell I'd drive that thing when it's wet.

Kinda like the streets in Las Vegas.

I did a weekend at the ring, it was fine.

Top Tips:
-- Ride with someone before you go out on your own. Look for yellow plates (that's UK) so you know they'll speak english. Just be like "hey, can I ride with you" and most of them will say sure. This will give you a feel for it.

-- Watch for the corner workers and lights. The worst accidents happen because someone didn't see the yellow flags and didn't slow down.

-- Keep right, pass left. Use your right blinker to let the person behind you know you're ready for them to pass on your left.

-- Two laps in a row is the most you can ask of any normal car that isn't track prepped (including stock M cars). After that your brakes and street tires will fade to dangerous levels.

Hourly & sometimes by the minute! Accidents happen. Btw... for every 50 meter section of guard rail you damage... you WILL get a 1K euro bill to pay for it! They don't call this place the Green Hell for nothing!!

This are is also not FLAT! So the rain water running over the track takes dirt and washes over the track surface. This gives the pavement a polished "ice like" surface. Especially in the rain. On some parts of the 'Ring you can be driving along at what you might think is 4/10th's driving... only to find yourself all sideways in a hurry. Driving the 'Ring is tricky business.

elevation change (up in this case ) combined with a turn on a polished surface. Wrecks, spins, runoffs are common.

Always the same stupid mistakes only different cars and drivers. They should improve the flagstations but most likely nobody on the track knows the flag rules over there
