Is this a good deal?
https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...3482/overview/
I am looking for a 2013 335i Alpine White/Coral Red interior M-sport with the Tech and Dynamic Handling Package. This one has everything i am looking for except the DHP which i think would correct the complaints that CarandDriver had with this model in their comparison test (see link below). What are your thoughts on the price and options. Should the non DHP be a deal breaker for me? http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...m-sport-page-3 Last edited by bazil769; 07-14-2016 at 09:41 AM.. |

On a rwd car with the sport suspension lack of DHP should not be a deal breaker.

That is pretty much average, I have been looking at CPO 2013 335i as well the last few weeks and think you might have some room for negotiation. I am searching for a manual though, and those tend to be a bit more.
I have driven several 340i, but cant justify the additional cost at this time, for relatively the same performance, just my opinion though.

the 340 is by definition an incremental upgrade. not worth extra if money is a concern
as for the lack of dhp I would look into aftermarket suspension. the only dynamic suspension worth it is the GM magride. |

After driving both, I just thought they made such a big improvement on the 340i. Feels and drives better, IMO. But you can't go wrong with either

If you value handling and steering feel the 340 is a dramatic improvement. I wouldn't buy the pre LCI as it doesn't drive like a proper BMW. IMO

As a point of reference I bought my "13 on New Years Eve with 20K miles on it. It has every option possible except 19"rims. SB/CR. It was $35k but is not CPO, however had a year and a half warranty left.

The LCI (mid-cycle refresh) brought improved suspension tuning and the 340i motor is more powerful and more fuel efficient. Of course, the price difference between a 2016 340i and a 2013 335i is substantial. 2014 brought an improved iDrive controller with a touchpad.

The amount of difference depends on the person but yea theres a diff.
340i handling is better, feels slightly stiffer, xtra pickup power. I tell ya I put off buying a 3-series for 5+ years now prior to the 340 cause I wasn't quite satisfied at the performance and now its seems headed back in the right direction and I popped the trigger. I guess I couldve sprung earlier for an M3 but Im not allowed to get that and wasnt excited with the 3-series offerings nor with the competition. If i gotta spend 50 grand+ I want a drivers car and more checkboxes checked. Check out the Jag XE V6 too thats a sweet drivers car as well. |
