That car is stunning. Too bad we don't have it in the US. Keep your FWD sedan garbage and give me this instead.

That is an excellent looking hatchback. It has style, aggression, visual balance and presence all in a small package.

The wheel size, tires, suspension and calipers are about ideal for this specific application.

Basically this thing is smokin!!! Well done AC Schnitzer.

one of the better looking cars from a styling perspective ACS have done - normally they body kits are horrendous from them - but this is looking good.

with 800nm, you'd have to royally screw up the gearing to slow this car down.

Will ACS put a naturally aspirated S54 in my 1er hatch? That's the true BMW experience.

More torque and more importantly better fuel mileage? When you drive 100+ miles a day this is important.

I totally would have bought a 335d if BMW didn't make it automatic only. My dream commuter beater would be a 335d X-drive wagon with a stick.

What's so "yuk" about this thread and diesels, you mean the hatch? These are amazing vehicles. The 335d thread has already surpassed 950nm on just two turbos and 11.8 quarter mile times. There's nothing yuk about that except the smoke coming out the exhaust

I wasn't a diesel believer until I took one for a test drive.

You wouldn't want a big diesel with a manual shift. Dreadful things because of the torque reversal effect off throttle through the drive train. I had a e90 3.0d briefly with the manual transmission.....

Yuk!
Plus, nowadays, even the inline 6 petrols are pretty darn efficient.

Ghetto. There's absolutely no need to put such monster wheels on a chassis like this and put the car so low that the arches cover the wheels. Zero utility (actually more negatives than positives) -- just a cheap show.

Nice engine tune though and I loved my diesel 3er.

I was one of the US BMW enthusiasts who wanted BMW to bring us more diesels.

This is a case of "grass is always greener."

After 1 week with a F11 520d m sport, I can say the diesel is honestly crap, and a N20 528i (which is my mothers car in the US) is leagues better and nearly as efficient.

The 520d only averaged 30 mpg US over 1800 miles. 38 highway 24 city...not better than our 528i. If fact the 520d was insanely laggy and downright SLOW. Only good for slow city driving. The autobahn was borderline painful. I got used to it but we have the cream of the crop in the US with the N20/N55/N63. Smooth, insanely wide power band, efficient, minimal turbo lag and great sound. The diesel had a narrow power band with no power until 2000 rpm, dying off at 3500 rpm in addition to sounding like a baby tractor.

What we need is a F11 535i in the USA!
